If they didn't plan on using their cap space, and they can get $3m while only being responsible for $2m of Stackhouse's contract... that's profit for the Grizzlies.

It would allow Howard to play SG, definitly increasing the strength of their starting unit. Their bench unit not so much. But I don't see Carslisle having a problem with playing them major minutes.

Orlando traded for Carter and still had the rights to Turk so they could trade him. Raptors have the cap space so they could take on Turk even thought they are sending no salary back.

The Mavericks, Raptors, Grizzlies and Magic combined in a massive swap Thursday that included eight players, a draft pick and stacks of cash. The deal sent Shawn Marion(notes) to Dallas, Stackhouse to Memphis and helped seal the transaction that moved Hedo Turkoglu(notes) from Orlando to Toronto.

Among the other pieces: Forward Kris Humphries(notes), center Nathan Jawai(notes) and cash went from Toronto to Dallas; guard Greg Buckner(notes) moves from Memphis to Dallas; and swingmen Antoine Wright(notes) and Devean George(notes) go from Dallas to Toronto.

Memphis also received a second-round pick and cash from Toronto and cash from Dallas. The Mavericks and Raptors both also sent cash to Orlando.

eh, i like marion to dallas- they win

toronto gets two scrubs, whatever, but they get to keep the mle, which is big. they should be able to add a sg with that , which will put george and wright even further down the bench, if thats possible.

orlando gets a te they wont use
