Early in the second quarter they lead UCLA 10-3, had a TD called back on a penalty that didn't effect the play and are thus far dominating the game.

Mannion's sitting at about 300yds passing with 5Min left in the 2nd. From the little I read about Beaver D against Wisconsin and what I'm watching now, they might be legit (or UCLA overrated, which, wouldn't surprise me in the least).

And they beat UCLA and contained one of the best rushers in the country.

I think OSU is gonna rebound...

they seem to be playing well, all the better if they are ranked when the ducks whoop their ass in the civil war

There defense looks really damn good. I hope they are legit, would make for a fun Civil war game.

OSU will and Deserve to be ranked. They were already first in the "others receiving votes" category before this game. AZ and UCLA unranked after this

Am I the only one who thinks that the polls shouldn't even start until about five weeks or so into the season?

It's so hard for teams to come from being unranked and climb the polls, whereas you have teams like Michigan still lingering around, just because of lofty preseason expectations, when they clearly don't deserve it.

I'd imagine Oregon St. to be in that 18-25 rank next week, but if they were just publishing the poll for the first time next week, things would be different.

Wisconisn lost their QB and a ton of line players.... it's not the team we saw in the rose bowl by any means.... UCLA is a middle of the pac team.... Next week the puppies will beat the beavers and all this talk will be gone....

Stanford, USC and Oregon are the teams.....

The puppies? OSU plays Arizona next week.

Defense continued to play great, and offense looked better this week.
After seeing how bad AZ was vs the Ducks, I think the Beavs can go down to AZ this weekend and beat em' up!
GO BEAVS!

The Beavs are looking good. As long as they stay healthy they will be alright.

If we keep improving the Civil War will be very interesting. We have great speed at our linebacker spots and we have a couple of physical, shutdown corners. I think our defense will keep us in the game.

As much as I love to watch the fast pace blur offense of Oregon, I got to say I enjoyed watching the Beavers play old school football of huddles, working the clock and playing smash mouth football.

Big test with Arizona's offense and now only one week to prepare.

Sorry i was wrong thought OSU was playing puppies instead just as fun the Happy Trees are...... SO this is actually a great game for OSU to see how they'll fare against a team the Ducks played last weekend. This will say a bunch about the Beavs and maybe just as much about AZ!

Who thinks the Happy trees get pee'd on by the Puppies in Seattle?

Civil War going to be interesting. If OSU carries this momentum, they could only have 2 loses and get into a decent bowl game!

Great point. I, too, like seeing good old fashioned trench warfare football.

I doubt the Beavers are for real. They've only played two games, and the inevitable letdown is...well, inevitable. Granted they do look better than they did last year so far, but we'll see how long it continues.

Do you think the Ducks are for real? They've only played 1 quality team (all at home). Beavs have played 2 and beat a good UCLA team on the road. As of now, both the Ducks and Beavs "are for real". Obviously the Ducks are at different level of "real" right now. But I think its safe to say that the Beavs are the more tested team so far.
