Yeah Masoli has the makings of something special. I think he can be as good as, if not better than Dixon in the next two years. He's the same type of player but also has a lot of toughness and seems to be much less injury prone than Dixon. Can't wait to see how he does in a Bowl game. Now if only his defensive secondary would give him a little help. :dunno:

Also, all this smack talk about Soda not showing up for last year's CW is fine and all, but I don't understand one thing: How is that argument valid when his join date is a few months ago? In fact, almost all of you joined a few months ago...now I'm a newbie here too, so did you all migrate here from a different forum or is there a bug in the forums or....?

Yes, we came from another forum.

TehChad, yeah we were all on a different forum last year. Pretty much the same cast as here.

Personally, Stewart caused me a lot more ulcers than Dixon ever did. Obviously, Dixon was out by the time he played OSU, but it seemed like Stewart was the guy that made the engine run even before the injury.

These gloating duck fans are probably the same fans that were boo-ing Masoli at home 3 weeks ago. Fairweather duck fans who boo their own players.

I was so fucking pissed at that. God damn... I mentioned that earlier.. what kind of fans do that? I was ashamed of those handful of fans... fuckin' retards, man.

Like I said, i'm so proud of our team.

I think this thread could have turned out really awesome... we could have talked and complimented each others teams... pointed out what we thought went well and poorly, the atmosphere, etc... but... well...

Do the "Can Riley" signs and booing of Matt Moore, ring a bell?
Pot. Meet Kettle.

It was a combo of both, but DDix was our ringleader, make no mistakes about it.

The main drawback to Masoli is his stature. His lack of height makes it difficult for him to see over the O-Line and D-Line. So, in that respect, I'm not sure he'll ever be the passing threat that Dixon was. It's up to Chip Kelly to design an offensive game plan to create passing lanes out of the pocket or designed roll-outs to get him into space where he isn't looking over a bunch of 6-5, 300 lb. linemen.

In terms of grasping the spread option attack, I really like what I've seen out of Jeremiah the last two games. He's reading that defensive end really well on the mesh. If the DE crashes, he pulls the ball out and runs a QB counter to that side and he is usually in the second level of the defense with his receivers setting up blocks for him. If the end stays true to his outside contain, he hands the ball off to Johnson or Blount and there are usually gaps in the line, since that's what the spread offense is designed to do.

It's a pretty genius attack, and a good reason why Chip Kelly is so highly regarded around the country.

Really, the best way to beat the Ducks is to jump out early on them and try to make them one-dimensional so you can put pressure on the quarterback. Otherwise, with the full tools of the offense at his disposal, Kelly is a master at making opposing defenses play on their heels.

Yep. Spot on.

Yeah. Take a 2 TD lead by the 2nd QTR, and make them have to pass more. Kinda dictate what they have to do to get back into the game. The thing with our offense is that it really isn't to well built to come back and for a 2minute drive right now w/ Masoli. But as he gets better, specially passing wise (height plays a major factor), I think that will improve greatly.

Uhhh, sorry I have a selective memory. Sure -- it happens. It's just that both Papa G and Pop have said they pretty much went "turtle" after last year's Civil War and now want to chirp. I just kind of find it funny, but to be fair I don't mean to imply that they were booing Masoli. Masoli had a great game last week.

Not sure if this has been posted already:

I would have been pissed if they through white paint on me at the game. I don't mind almost any taunting but not throwing paint. The section I was at for the game was ok but there were a lot of drunk OSU fans and they did get a little out of hand when they knew the game was over but they at least didn't actually hit any of the 5-6 Ducks fans that were in my section.:dunno:
