I've been wanting to go after Diaw for a while now, especially after watching him with France over the Summer, because (a) he's just so talented, (b) because I think he would encourage Batum, and (c) because we need a backup PF. I thought perhaps that Charlotte would want to unload him, because he's paid nearly $10M, but his deal ends at the end of this year, so there's no real incentive. I was put off a little by his extreme pudge (Larry Brown would love him - he's like Hot Plate Williams) and the fact that he put up pedestrian numbers in the French Second Division, but apparently he was just getting some balling in so that he wouldn't blimp up even more.

Anyway, he's been totally beasting in the Bobcats' first two games - practically a triple double in each. The Bobcats can't afford to get rid of him now.

I always been a fan of diaw. The dude plays well over his weight. But I seriously doubt Jordan parts with him.

I like Diaw's game ... but adding him to this team doesn't quite "make it" for me. I can't exactly put my finger on why not, but I just don't think it would have that much of a payoff.

I'd love me some G-Dub too. But no way MJ parts with his best player, heart and soul of the..... Oh wait.... Shit MJ.... Thanks for the (almost) free gift!!

I just don't see how we could get the salaries to match up, but it would be an interesting idea if it were possible. Yeah I'd rather have him then Kurt Thomas or Craig Smith as a backup big man.

I think I might want to keep Camby over him for this one season, we really need the interior defense. If there were an injury to Camby, a swap of those two would be intriguing. If we thought we had a chance at contending maybe it'd be worth a lottery protected pick or something.

The guy is a 14ish PER player who has had a few nice games to start the year. He's a career 5 rpg guy who plays F/C, and can't play defense.

Yeah, the key for the Blazers is to bring in an average player without a position who is overpaid at $9m/year.

Every offseason it seems like Diaw has one to many french fries. Pardon the pun. Out of shape and not worth the money. I'll pass.

Diaw is (or was) a 5 position player. He played PG and SG for Atlanta and C for Phoenix. I wouldn't look down on his rebound numbers.

Wow - no wonder he's playing well these days:

I would when the poster said he'd prefer Diaw over Kurt Thomas as a back-up PF.

Ahhh...we're looking more and more like the Charlotte Bobcats all the time....
