...how humiliating is it that Charlotte is seen as a better option than Portland?

:sigh:

I think somebody should have informed Larry Miller that Sloan wasn't the coach of the Jazz anymore. Maybe he could have been a candidate.

I think it's because they have a good GM?

I've completely softened on Cho. At this point, it's obvious that Cho's hands were tied in Portland. I still think he was a ridiculous hire for Portland, too. Remember when Larry Miller led Cho around to various local media outlets like he was a puppy?

I like Jerry Sloan. I just don't like him anymore as a coach. I like the fact he said he doesn't need an agent. If someone calls he will listen. He does not need an agent for that. Apparently Portland did not call. but did you really want them to? I have no problem with the fact he is 70, but I am kind of hoping they go with someone with a little more energy on the bench.

so because we haven't shown interest, it means charlotte is a better job?

much ado nothing.

would this also mean that Charlotte is seen as a better option than NY? they never interviewed or talked to him.

sloan never interviewed or expressed interest, though. He must have thought Charlotte the more desirable franchise, of course.

I look at the Charlotte situation this way: They can't do any worse than did this year under Silas, Biyombo is raw is hell and still has a lot of utapped potential, Kemba will probably turn into a good sixth man, microwave guy if they can get a point guard with some size to start and if they get lucky and land Davis or even "unlucky" and end up with Robinson, Beal, et al. that's not a horrible situation to go into as a coach ... as long as whomever takes it can stomach another year or two of losing.

The Blazers are too image conscious right now and don't want to hire a coach before a GM because of all the PR bashing they would receive.

so because we haven't shown interest, it means charlotte is a better job?

No interest confirmed:

SI.com: Since we're making the rounds, though, Portland is another team looking for a coach. Does that position interest you? Sloan: I have no idea. If someone calls me or wants to talk to me, I guess that's the best way to do it. I don't really like to speculate on what's going to happen. It's just a waste of my time, really.
