Haha, "Virgnia Beach".

I like the Virginia Beach Kings

The Virginia Beach Kings? I'm being told the owners of the Sacramento Kings - the Maloofs - will

not be announcing a move to to Virginia Beach on Aug. 29 as was reported in this story - http://insidebiz.com/n... Joe Maloof is being quoted by multiple outlets saying he has not spoken to Virginia Beach. There's likely to be a statement from the team or family soon.

From Sam Amick's twitter, so knowing the Maloofs, expect the deal to be announced on that date that they are indeed moving.

For them to get a team over Seattle would be a travesty, but a simple realignment takes care of it all. Move Milwaukee to the WC,

???

I really like that restructuring. Just call the new division The Midwest

Ya. Although the twitters are now saying it's a false report, so all that brilliant work of mine is ruined

Too bad--Shaq's nickname for them would make so much more sense if they moved to Virginia.

Virginia Beach Mayor William Sessoms said Thursday that he couldn't confirm anything about the Kings. He did, however, confirm other details about his city's arena situation."I can confirm that Comcast Spectacore, which used to own the*Philadelphia 76ers, has stated clearly that they would guarantee a professional team if we move forward (with the arena deal)," Sessoms said. "They've indicated to me that this building would generate enough revenue on its own to cover the debt service that would be required by the city." Sessoms suggested that Comcast Spectacore could either come back with an NBA or NHLteam.

This is new. Comcast phones you and makes promises that other sources deny. You agree to the deal and then every couple of months, Comcast reduces their promises and increases their prices.

PapaG, I would switch Toronto and Virginia Beach. Not a huge difference though. Would love to see that since it cleans up alot in the West.

Swap Memphis and San Antonio, and then that looks about right. Houston-Memphis-New Orleans form a triangle, with about a five hour drive from one city to another. It'd make more sense if they stayed in the same division.

Using the same logic, the three Texas teams form a smaller triangle and should be in the same division.

If you really think about it........ ATL-Minny-PDX make a triangle as well.

Regardless, it wouldn't make sense to have Memphis, in the heart of the deep south, in the same division as the Utah Jazz.

That's almost as crazy as my Blazers being in the same division as teams as close as OKC and Minny.

True.

I guess divisions don't really matter though, and Conferences do.

It's just always bugged me that Memphis has been in the Western Conference. In our most competitive years (including this year), I've always felt like we could dominate the Eastern Conference, but we're always stuck in that #3-6 area in the West.

Portland... ya'll are definitely in the West, but for cities like Memphis, we're borderline, and we're on the east of the delta.

I just hate how teams like Philly from last season get so much praise for beating up such scrubby opponents on the regular, when the Grizz (and Blazers) have to fight night in and night out against better teams.

Can you say MONO-POLY?

Why don't we just induct the Idaho Stampede into the NBA?

Seattle is so freaking obvious.

Stern regrets moving out of Vancouver and I think he'll have the same regret if he passes on Seattle.

OKC is a fraction of the size of Seattle (and half the size of Portland), Virginia Beach is also MUCH smaller than Seattle.

I don't get this logic with the Maloofs and Stern.

I predict the Kings will be playing in Seattle next fall. The Maloofs will sell the team to somebody up there....... they will play in Key Arena for 2 seasons while they build the new arena. Done deal!
