OT LMAO Rockets, Bosh going back to Miami

I said resign Parsons and use their trade exceptions or sign 1 year deals and offer a deal to LA.

Right, and Parsons contract is $15 million a year. You know that counts against the cap right? Parsons at 15M + Harden at 15M + Howard at 22M is over 52M of committed salary to three players. Even if the salary cap moved up to ~65M next year, the most they could offer LA is around 13M a year. There's no chance LA would even consider that. Not to mention the Rockets would have to literally clear every other player on the roster and fill up 8 roster spots with min players.

Houston is fine. Afterall they have superstar Troy Daniels still.

I don't remember entirely, but I believe he pitched that to the Blazers, that off-season, before Batum signed an offer sheet with them.

The difference with the Minnesota / Batum deal was that Batum hadn't signed the offer. It was all posturing by Minny to get a S&T. Portland just said sign the offer & we'll match.... so Minny never had Batum sign for like a week. That's why we heard so many rumors. Once the offer was officially signed, there were no more S&T rumors.

You love that Morey destroyed their bench and got nothing in return? Let's not pretend like Bosh ever promised to play for Houston. He seemed pretty non-committal to me. They wagered everything that he would go to the Rockets if LeBron left Miami, and they were completely wrong. That's definitely on the GM. He gambled big and lost. The move he made with Parsons was especially stupid. He declined the option on Parsons, making him a free agent during one of the worst possible times to have a RFA. There were so many teams with cap space this summer, it was almost guaranteed that Parsons would get a big contact offer.

Now, if the Rockets match, they will have upwards of 60 million tied up in just Harden, Howard, and Parsons. They won't have any cap space for a while.

Yep. I like it. He took a shot and it didn't happen. Expected value calculation.

It's awesome that their starting PF will be Terrence Jones.

Bill Bayno and his pads plays better D than Jones can.

Bosh is a Dallas guy. Doesn't that make Houston his hated rival growing up? I wonder if he strung them along in free agency out of spite.

Bosh said a couple of years ago that he preferred not to go back to Texas because of family asking for tickets and things all the time

It sucks if family takes advantage of your generosity so much that you'd prefer to leave the state...

The only mistake Morey made this offseason was to not keep Parsons for peanuts. If he wants he can still match Parsons and trade him to another team. If they could get cap space and a 1st rounder for Asik, they should be able to get at least that for Parsons.

Morey has built a superteam, good for him. I and apparently others here from their reactions are jealous. What the team really needs is a coach who can get Harden to not play some of the worst defense in the league. Instead, he re-signed McHale. OK, I guess that make 2 mistakes for Morey this offseason.

OR Resign OR sign 1 year deals to offer a deal to LA but it seems like that is out the window with Ariza now.

Your idea still makes no sense. Parsons already signed his offer sheet which is a 3 year deal. They can't sign him to a 1 year deal. If you mean sign LMA to a one year deal, they wouldn't gain his bird rights, so it's useless.

He means anything else being done should be a one year. But I think you are right Meese, with that Ariza signing I don't think they might not be able to. Definitely can't if they match parsons.

He said match Parsons and then do one year deals. Just know that if they match Parsons, they won't have any significant capspace for the next 3 years unless they move one of their main three cogs.

Or =/= and

I suggest re reading meese's post, his point was good and he was correct. I hope they match parsons so we don't have to hear the rockets name tied to LA next year.

Nevermind, his wording was very confusing.

How is it that you actually think you make sense bro? You're "trade LMA" obsession has become soooo great, that you overlook the obvious.

Fact: Houston can't renegotiate parsons.

It's either match or let him walk.

thank you

My point was either retool with Parsons and use the trade exceptions or sign some players on a one year deal and let Parsons go so they can go after LA next summer.

Meanwhile, back in Miami Bosh and Deng could prove to be an effective tandem....if Wade is still able to be the Alpha dawg.

what trade assets do they have to even pretend about this?

I'd love for the Rockets to get Rondo. He's the opposite of what they need. Ballhandling abilities limited because of Harden. Can't shoot a lick from the 3 point line.

I would LOVE for houston to get Kevin. He and Harden would destroy each other.

if boston or minny are looking to unburden themselves from rondo or loves contracts in a pure salary dump then umm, wait what?

Boston is loaded with PGs and appear to playing for the future. But your right, they always seem to be shopping Rondo and wanting a lot in return.

They got nothing for Love
