Hey Rob, nice to be back. Got to bring Mom home from the hospital last Friday. Getting the transfusion really did the trick. The heavy doses of chemo and radiation almost killed her, took 23 days to stabilize the situation. Looks like it worked, she'll have the tumor removed from her colon next month. Already set things up with her doc, they will save the tissue, test for markers via next gen sequencing. And we can use the cancer tissue to design follow up chemo cocktails that are much more selective and safer.
Dad's lung cancer may be spreading, his chemo starting to become resistant. However there may be a sliver of silver lining. Original location was inoperable and biopsy too risky. The spread will give us a chance to get tissue for sequencing and culture. Then that tissue culture can be screened against a matrix of drugs.
