One of the best for sure. He's been out of his prime for a few years, and this is a long time coming. It marks the end of an era, which is sad.

dviss1 should be happy... he was a showboat who stopped reffing from the correct positions years ago.

He couldn't last one more year for an even 40, which means that he is truly out of gas.

I wonder if he will write a book. I really enjoyed reading Tim Donaghy Personal Foul book.

Joey Crawford next? I was really hoping for a Scott Foster retirement.

Just proves that NBA refs are biased for the Lakers. Nothing new.

Kudos Adam Silver! That old dog needed to be taken out back and shot years ago!

You think this is Silver's doing? Possibly.

From Sterling to old ass Bavetta Silver is cleaning house IMO. Crawford should be next!

When a referee's parabolic career descends a little under NBA-quality, he should still be good for a few NCAA years, right?

The pay per game is still good for a ref with a rep, but with a lot fewer games. Why doesn't Bavetta try it? Which laid-off NBA refs then became reliable NCAA refs?

They could just become replay refs in a booth with a monitor if that ever happens. No, wait, Scott Foster ....bad idea
