How many titles will LeBron and co win the next 5 seasons?

probably be the heat coming out of the east for the next 3 years. To win another title Lebron will again need to be the best player on the floor for every game. With the wear and tear on his body I believe he after next years finals his legs are going to start to go.

I think the odds are pretty good that we'll see these two teams in this same situation a few more times.

The way D-Wade's declining and the lack of young prospects to develop with Lebron, I'm not so sure of that.

I think Wade's decline is being overblown, it's just the result of LeBron taking over the team. Wade is still an amazing player. As of right now I don't see anyone in the East with a better chance than Miami to be in the Finals the next few years.

Wade still does good shit on the court. But, his jumper has looked ugly and his explosiveness going to the hoop isn't nearly what its been.

He was hurt.

As was Bosh.

Wade will have off-season surgery.

He may never be the same old Wade, but I bet (unless he gets hurt again) he will play a lot better in next years playoffs.

If the Heat big three are healthy in any one playoffs (something that hasn't been the case yet), they will have an easier time than they did this year getting to the finals.

A recovering Bosh.

A Gimpy Wade.

Mike Miller could hardly walk. (was supposed to be their 4th best player when they signed him)

And they still ran OKC off the court.

Fuck the Heat. Find your own God damn Forum.

Posted on vacation with meds.

Nah I think I'll be taking this victory lap actually.

Congratulations, you are the new Laker fan!

Not really, I'm just pointing out the obvious. A lot of people here don't understand basketball.

WTF? Take it to the Meat forum. Quit polluting our space.

Looks like a legit thread to me Mr. hypocrite. :)

Here's the irony for Heat fans. Anything less than multiple titles and the Heat are a failure, winning one doesn't really mean shit.

Not really, all three can opt out after two more years, if the team was truly on the verge of collapse. I think Wade will be good enough though, LeBron just stopped deferring to him in the Finals. It is nice to see them win their first ring together.

I think all three will be fine as far as winning more titles. We should try to add some more people though.

Exactly. Right now they're just Dallas. And they'll never match Jordan's 1990's Bulls. They needed to win last year to even have a chance. He's the A+ they'll never attain.

Nope, LeBron is 27 we already beat the Mavs' model.

The Mavs prove you need to leave your initial team if anything.

I think the more interesting question would be how many more times will Lebron & Durant meet in the finals? Bird & Magic met 3 times in a 4 year span, and reached a combined 13 finals in the 80's. Do Lebron/Durant have a chance to approach those figures in this decade?

Hmm no that's not really the question at all, since LeBron has postseasons that are better than Jordan's best postseasons and has no rival. The TEAMS are rivals maybe, although Miami was clearly better.

Durant right now is like a young Dirk, and Barkley still has a better career.

I think they meet again next year, if OKC can keep most of the team together. As for over the next 5 or so? Maybe twice more for 3 total (including this year). I see OKC trading Westbrook eventually if they can't close the deal, and Wade will break down soon. By then, other teams might be on the rise and could prevent either or both from making the finals entirely.

If Wade breaks down Bosh will just take more shots. He plays fantastic when wade is out of the lineup.

Well said.

I like how all your posts were in the Lakers forum until about July 2010.

They clearly were the better team in that series, thanks to their scrubs really stepping up. Just need another dominant team to rise and they could have trouble, because they're far from invincible. Might be OKC or if Howard can team up with another all star or two. I wonder if the Spurs would have given them a better run? The Spurs scrubs would likely have shown up, and an interior presence like Duncan might have won them the rebounding battle that really was a deciding factor in the Heat's win. Maybe the Spurs have another run in them if Duncan returns.

Well this Heat team was great because of the adjustments they made during the season.

They stopped playing Joel Anthony/etc. at the five and moved Bosh there. Then they had LeBron operate from the elbow and live in the paint. King James and Bosh are good defenders so it worked, it wouldn't work with inferior defensive players.

If the Thunder had any kind of threat in the post it could have been a much different story. Since they don't, they basically had 4 guards on the floor with one of Ibaka/Perkins/Collison most of the time. I didn't really think they had a chance, and it's because LeBron is so superior to Durant.

Last year Miami's best lineups were with LeBron at the four, because of floor spacing. With Joel Anthony in the game it is easier to play zone.

Also our skills are slightly different of course. Chris Bosh, unless he's playing against Shaq, is a great defender at the five.

Not a very astute point at all, since various championship teams won from the perimeter. Think of the Jordan Bulls or 08 Celtics, these squads had a minimal post presence.

The Thunder were 11th in defensive efficiency, that's why they lost.

Disagree. Winning a championship is tough and many great players like Malone, Barkley, and Ewing never won a single championship. Winning a championship is huge for LeBron and Bosh's legacy. Wade already has multiple titles, of course. I'm not gonna play the "he's only won one" game to put him down. Give him his due.

After all, Wilt only won 2 and he is the most dominant player ever.

OKCs future dominance will be greatly overexaggerated IMO. To me, they are the 90s blazers and Durant = Drexler. nice guy, but Westbrook is the alpha male on that team and he makes terrible decisions. They are a high powered offense, sure, but it will crumble (at least i hope it does).

This is a Blazers forum. Not a Miami Heat forum.

Lock/move this

Ok, so 18 people don't know jack about basketball.

Edit: Add a couple more people, make that 20.

Well, now that they've finally won one (a real one), I'll say two. Depends on what they do this summer, but they should win it again next season.

I haven't read the thread, but all their contracts end in 1 year. They will win a maximum of 1 championship. Given 50-50 odds, I'll vote 0.
