You know, I still think Hibbert is more valuable to a team in the playoffs than Lopez and Kaman combined (I know I shouldn't think that though)
Would it make any sense to find a way to bring him in as a starting center and then find a way to replace Matthews next season in FA?
I assume we'd include him for salary reasons? Would Lopez and Matthews plus filler even work? If deemed a favorable trade by those of you more.......sentimental towards the team than me

I think we should look into it. Lopez, Freeland, McCollum, trob with a first could work. A motivated hibbert puts us into contender status
This is a tough call. Hibbert was unhappy Indy matched Portland's offer and that team had locker room problems that crumbled any semblance of chemistry. 30 mil over 2 years for a guy that Rolo actually defended last season fairly well. I would not give up Rolo for him. Watch the Lakers go after him and offer up Pau
Indiana needs to shed some $$ in order to bring back Stephenson for slightly more than what they initially offered. They're already at the tax, or slightly over, and because they used their MLE, are hard capped at 81 million, so they don't have much room to maneuver on his deal.
I've thrown this deal out there quite a few times, but Lopez, Freeland and Crabbe saves them 4.89 million on next year's salary, which gives them enough space to bring Stephenson back. They lose Hibbert, but get a solid replacement for him in Lopez. We can swap out Wright for Freeland, which costs them about 100K, but maybe fits better for their roster, as they already have Mahinmi, Copeland, West and Scola up front, so less of a need for Freeland.

Mmmm. I think I would have thought about this before committing 5 mil to Kaman. That 5 mil could have been used on a FA SG.
Or it makes it easier to include Joel or Leonard in the trade since we added more center depth.
Hibbert would move my needle.
that would be a great package
Eh. Upgrade over Rolo, but I like Rolo and would want him to come off the bench. Could we let go of Kaman or something? lol.
We could always pull a dick move and NOT sign Kaman on July 10th. Of course, that would kill our credibility with the players, but it's not like we had much to begin with in this veritable waste land that is Portland, Oregon.
The fact that Rolo defended him well isn't as important as how well Hibbert defended everyone else in the league.
maybe pull the ol' "failed physical"?![]()
