According to a report from El Periodico, Ricky Rubio has decided not to come over to the United States to play for the Minnesota Timberwolves and will remain with DKV Joventut for the next two seasons.

If I read something in a paper called The Newspaper, I think I would assume it was bullshit.

That said, if Rubio doesn't play organized basketball at all for one year, he can re-enter the draft since Minni loses his rights.

If a friend of yours said he negotiated a raise at work by pointing out to his boss that he had better opportunities somewhere else, I sincerely doubt any of you would call him a whiny bitch.

It's only in sports that athletes are expected not to have any human concerns and simply be life-size toys for the fans' amusement.

He isn't old enough. Up to a certain age, you have to enter the NBA through the draft. Kobe Bryant threatened going to college if Charlotte didn't trade his rights...had he done so, even though he'd have spent a year out of pro basketball, he'd still have had to go through the draft the next season.

If we do sign Hedo, I would re-visit that Rudy-and-change for Rubio idea. It would solve a numbers crunch for us and give us a Hedo replacement (because Hedo will be playing the part of PG for us a lot) in 2 years as he starts to crumble. Wonder if Minny will be more inclined to do it, or if Kahn will just be even more stubborn now.
