On this rainy and dreary day in New York City this afternoon, Stephen Jackson and Al Harrington were at South Street Seaport for a block party put on by their sneaker company Protege. One of the MCs at the event asked Stack Jack in front of the crowd whether he thought the Warriors were going to make the playoffs. Jackson paused then smiled before responding, “Um…I don’t think I’ll be a Warrior next year. I’m looking to leave.”

I don't think the Blazers want any part of this guy, but they were in the market for a small forward this summer.

Kind of strange that he went a long way to repairing his image in Golden State... now to seemingly throw that away.

how did he throw it away?
Maybe that is overstating it on my part but it was less than a year ago he signed a contract extension IIRC. It hasn't even started and he already wants out.

I've said it before... I'd love to see Jackson on our team. I think he would fit in perfectly. A lineup of Miller, Roy, Jackson, Aldridge, and Oden would be amazing.

And when he signed that contract he talked about his love for GS and wnating to retire a Warrior.

Then he says he wants to leave to pursue a ring and cites NY as one of the teams he wants to go to. :biglaugh:

Travis Outlaw would be a good fit in Nelly's system.

Jackson could be what we wanted Hedo to do here.

Same here. Either Artest or Jackson would have added a lot of toughness to this team. I think with the core that we have, we'd be able to handle 1 headcase without any issues. Especially since Roy has cemented himself as one of the best players in the NBA.

Pursue a ring in NY? Is he gonna play for the Giants?

S-Jax can also play some semblance of defense (well he did outside of GS, anyway). I'd be a bit weary of bringing him in here, though. He's kinda loony.

If only we knew what OIG thought about S-Jax potentially coming to Portland..... now we'll never know.

if we can swing a trade, id love to have him - that first team lineup would be a great thing to watch

The problem is that we would have trouble matching his contract. Dude is making a nice chunk of change.

We could do a Trav + Joel for Jackson + Turiaf deal. Considering the high likelihood of Joel opting out next year, I'd probably do that.

I would do it too, actually. I would love to add Turiaf and Jax.

Send Webster, Bayless, and Outlaw for Jackson and Turiaf. Works under the cap. Not sure if I'd be willing to do that though. I don't think the Warriors would, either.

Especially since GS has like 30 guards on that team.

GS is probably looking for a big. They have quite a few SG/SFs already.

Exactly. And I agree that there's a very good chance that Joel leaves us via free agency. I just can't see him spending his best days on our bench behind Greg.

GS buries Turiaf on the bench. What big outside of Biedrens do they need for their style of offense and defense?

I have no problem with a guy who jumps into the stands and gets into a brawl with fans of an opposing team. I have no problem with getting into an argument with several patrons at a strip club, getting punched by one of the patrons, and firing several gunshots from a 9-mm pistol in "self defense".

But the dude pouts. I hate that. Once a complainer always a complainer. I don't trust him.

I like how SJ would project on the court with this club. He can handle the ball + create for others, is a solid defender, and seems to have excellent BBIQ. But just maybe do you think Canzano and the bedwetting Blazer fans sect might get a little insufferable?

That really is the tossup. I really don't think I want to hear all the Jail Blazer bullshit that would go with acquiring Jackson.
