you valley guys make me laugh. I mean I get the whole "its not me I'm worried about its other people" but still, how much did you even get over there? we got over a foot in less than 24 hours, and that was before our last 6-8" had even melted off all the way.

And you guys who think it has anything to do with the actual snow accumulation crack me up. It has nothing to do with how much snow fell. I didn't drive yesterday and I left work early because I have lived in Portland all my life and I know that if even an inch or two falls, the city will come to a complete stop. It has more to do with how our infrastructure was designed. Freeways were closed because trucks lost traction and blocked all the lanes. We have one of the worst freeway systems in the country. It took people hours to get home. I have seen it before many times, and I know what to expect, so as soon as it started snowing I bolted. I'm not sitting in traffic for 4-5 hours. Not happening.
And then you had to walk to school in it...
I'm workin'! Can you guys play D&D online? Shit then you really don't need to leave your respective basements. #GOALS

Exactly. I know a girl who got hit yesterday by a couple people in traffic, one of which drove away, and it took her 7 hours to get from Wilsonville to Vancouver. And you guys who think it has anything to do with the actual snow accumulation crack me up. I'm a teacher, school is closed, therefore I am home.
Me, too! Though I've been off for months. Taking care of babies.
That's what I don't get, why the fuck did she even try to make that drive?
Well, it's not like the snow was a surprise. They had been predicting it for at least 3-4 days. People still drive. I don't get it.
Sometimes you cant. When i worked for a CPA firm, they would laugh at you if you wanted to go home early and say no. It just was not accepted whatsoever. It was a pretty easy storm to figure out. You could see it slowly coming up from Eugene, then Salem. Oh, snow in Salem? I should leave before it gets to Wilsonville.

Thats a good way of getting fired at a CPA firm.....Frankly, I think you should be able to bill the company for the time you spend sitting in the car if they make you stay.
Big deal. So she added an extra 30 minutes to her normal daily commute.........(green font)She lives in Vancouver and works in Wilsonville.

Just the nature of the beast.

It happens often. Usually people end up staying at a CPA firm for 2-5 years after college then go elsewhere (unless they are on the fast track to partner). So, how long until you tell them to shove it and open your own practice?
