1) Eliminate offensive goal tending. They don't call it consistent anyway.
2) Eliminate timeouts except for the last 2 minutes of the game or last minute of a quarter (and the auto TV ones they do) Everytime a team gets on a run and the game gets exciting they call a damn timeout.
3) Eliminate fouling out. Purposely repeatedly running into someone to try to get them to foul out is lame.
4) Any intentional foul is automatic free throws. The fouling in the last two minutes is lame.
5) Allow offense fouls regardless of whether the player is perfectly set... they used to have something called player control foul or something like that.

I like 1, I dislike all the others.

I would have a referee that only watches live feed and replays.

5- 10 feet behind the 3 pt line would be a 4 pt shot. It would eliminate a lot of the end of game foul -hope they miss a freethrow- foul, foul boring crap. And it never works anyway.

Here, if you are down 4 or 5 with 19 seconds to go, you might choose to not foul and shoot a bomb instead.

I like the 4 point line and eliminating the 6 foul limit.

It's not an in game rule but I would like to see the age limit and guaranteed contracts for rookies eliminated

Also, shorten the season to 62 games. Play everyone twice and division teams three times

Change the play off format. There was a play-in tournament discussed several months ago. The bottom 16 teams would compete for play off bids. The final four teams of that and the top two teams in each division all go to the play offs. The end of season basketball is just unbearable to watch with the weak teams tanking and the strong teams resting their stars.

1. Make the court wider.
2. increase the rim diameter by 1/4 inch
3. each game should be reviewed for flops, each time its determined a player flopped, they get a point...4 points gets you suspended for one game
4. Add an extra ref who sits on the sidelines with a tv, expand automatic replay, and also give the coaches 2 challenge flags and allow them to challenge certain (non-judgement) calls. If you lose a challenge, the other team gets 2 FTs
5. go back to 5 game series in round 1

1. A foul is a foul is a foul. No more superstar treatment, no more situational changes in the rules.
2. Take control of the referees completely away from the NBA.
3. Mandatory random drug testing of ALL players. Test for PEDs, narcotics, banned stimulants, etc.
4. Make the fourth, fifth, and sixth years of any contract a team option, period.
5. Wookiees should be given center court season tickets so that they can braid or shave brand logos into their back hair in order to advertise certain products.

eliminate defensive 3 seconds rule.
eliminate the breakaway foul rule.

So, 12 teams get automatic playoff berths, and the bottom 16 get to compete for the 4 remaining spots; that leaves out 2 teams--the best 3rd-place team in each conference. Last season that would have been Miami and...the Blazers! What do you have against our team?!

Get rid of superstar calls. I like how the NFL's stars are stars because they're actually the best players. A penalty is a penalty in the first quarter and the 4th. That's how it should be in the NBA.

On a defensive foul in the last 2 minutes, the offense keeps the ball and gets a new shot clock. No more turning the last 2 minutes into a 30 minute parade to the FT line.

Teams are limited to a max of 2 timeouts per quarter - 1 in the first 10 minutes, and 1 in the last 2 minutes.

Eliminate the technical foul. Nobody is there to watch the refs show how big their dicks are.

Call the game the same for ALL players/teams.

Ooops, that should have been the bottom 18 teams play for the last 4 spots in the play offs

Also, I'd like to see some draft incentive tied to the play-in tournament. Maybe give each team ping pong balls based on the tournament performance and regular season record

Wouldn't a team who is up by a couple points just start fouling a lot so the shot clock keeps going up and the game takes longer? no worry about free throws!

1. Legalize zone defenses

2. Use FIBA refs

6 foot height minimum for all NBA League Commissioners.

1. Eliminate zone defenses altogether (everything man-to-man)
2. allow handchecking on the perimeter again.

Yes to those.

1. Eliminate defensive 3 second technical.
2. Allow handchecking.
3. Strictly enforce traveling? Hopefully players would adapt fast. I know that if they randomly started calling travels it would be almost every possession.
4. Eliminate clear path and flagrant fouls.
5. 10 fouls per player before fouling out.
6. Eliminate the NBA's continuation rule on and 1's. Make it like college.

Call travelling when a guy takes more than 1.5 steps.

1) Eliminate the 3 point shot.

2) No more zone defenses.

3) Flops are an automatic 2 shot technical and next game suspension. If the ref misses the flop, it can be judged via instant replay o the sidelines.

Yes, you heard me, get rid of that sissy shot. Go back to when a basket was a basket. I think it has degraded the quality of basketball.

Oh yeah, I don't like the DH in baseball either.

44s rules are very good.

I say you bring the franchise tag like in the NFL. Would give teams a lot more security.

the problem I have with your flop rule is that the refs can't get it right now, what makes you think they can call your rule correctly? Would you want Roy kicked out of a game because a ref wrongly thought he flopped?

There are some good ideas here.

On the flopping one... I think if they would call an offensive foul without the player falling down... perhaps players wouldn't do that. When is the last time you saw a charge where the player didn't fall down?

I'd like to see some type of rule change so that drawing fouls wasn't the most effective style of play.

I think there's no question when a player flops. To me, it's the single worst problem on the floor in the NBA.
