It’s starting to look doubtful he will win a title again in his career if he stays in LA. I think a trade could benefit both parties. Lakers would be better with a bunch of young studs to grow with their core. I wonder if the Knicks (or Hawks or whoever) would give up the #1 pick for LeBron. LeBron stays in big market, returns to East, Knicks become relevant, and Lakers build around Zion. Thoughts?

C'mon. Way too early to make that statement.
Nobody anywhere thought they were going to compete this year.

LeBron's problem: Age is not on his side. This is the Western Conference. The Lakers would be a very good team in the East. And LeBron would only need to play 4 games per playoff series.
In the Western Conference, every game is a 48 minutes dog fight. Games in the West are faster pace. LeBron doesn't have that in him anymore.
Remember when he faced the Spurs 5 years ago in the finals and got destroyed by Boris Diaw, Kawhi Leonard, Popovich and the Spurs? Back the, he blamed it on Wade and Bosh being old. Well ... who looks old now?
His biggest mistake was to go West. Too bad !!!

Lebron has a no trade clause.

ET and Meyers!

Lebron saw how good GS was and went to LA more for his post Basketball career then his basketball career. He’s got a NTC and he wants to be in LA / Hollywood to make money, be a social activist and flat out just be famous with all the other rich and famous down there.

**IF** It would take a team like Denver giving up Doncic or Jokic, along with a bunch pickx and whatever it would take to match salaries.

No he doesn’t. He has an opt out, but he gave up a chance for NTC when he went to LaL. Only 10-year vets (5 with one team) have NTCs.

Edit: new CBA is 8/4, not 10/5. So LBJ would have NTC eligibility if he signed with CLE or MIA, but not LAL

LeBron will get a max level player to help him this offseason and possibly a second via trade. If Golden State loses Durant and Thompson then LeBron could find himself as the front runner in the West. This season won't be great and he'll likely miss the playoffs but I still think there is a bright future for LeBron as a Laker unfortunately.

People thought they’d make playoffs and possibly WCF. They also thought he’d find superstar teammates...

In my scenario, he asks for a trade. I don’t think that’s out of the question. Then again, Bronny goes to Crossroads so he prob doesn’t want to move his family.

What if those guys don’t want to play with him? What if he ends up with Tobias Harris? That’s not going to get it done.

You could literally copy and paste this into every single Kingspeed thread and it would be relevant.
You think he’s gonna win a title with Lakers in Western Conference in the next 3 years? PG said no. Durant won’t sign there. Anthony Davis is under contract another year. MAYBE Kyrie or Kemba come. Then it’d be interesting. But if he really wanted to win, he would’ve gone to Denver. He’s old. He’s in West. I don’t think it’s premature to speculate his championship winning days are over.

Yeah Im just saying he'd likely specify a few destinations.

But if he really wanted to win, he would’ve gone to Denver.
Or Philadelphia, Utah, Indiana, or found a way to do a sign and trade with Milwaukee or Portland.

@KingSpeed did we forget that the lakers set themselves up to sign another max, this off season?
I mean yeah, age isn't on his side, but he is with the lakers who have tons of flexibility in the off season.
They will make a bunch of moves this off season. Why not wait until then and see how it falls out before saying he is done winning?

I do hate everything i just typed though......fuck.

who said that for this year year????
Next year king, next year....
And who's he gonna get?

Not AD. The Pelicans would've traded him there already.

Not Klay. The Warriors will max him.

Not Kyrie. If he leaves itll be to NY.

Not Kawhi. He wants to be the guy. Would rather play with Clups than Lakers.

Jimmy Butler? Hes already in a better situation.

No he didnt publically say anything.

Also the Warriors will max him out.
I read it somewhere but maybe it was someone elses fake news here?

Does gsw have the Ability to max him without gutting more of thier bench?

All assumptions. Nobody said pg would stay in okc.

Shit can change. Lakers have a ton of flexibility and its southern california and a historic off season.
I dont see a point in debating this because we both know alot can happen in the offseason.

It’s kind of funny. Many NBA people (media and executives) think the of all the players in the league—available and not available—Dame is the one who would best fit in LA with LeBron. Maybe Kyrie if his head is on straight (iffy).
