Via Hoopshype, the reason why he dropped from a mid-first to early-second round was because he apparently has a "severe" case of ADD.

If he dropped to us at #34 I think we should have taken him. Even with the severe ADD, I don't think it would be hard for him to learn the two plays we have. :devilwink:

On a serious note, would it even be safe for a pro-athlete to play while on Adderall/Vyvanse? (ADD medication)

No but ADD can be cured with diet and activity changes. Many, MANY things clear up when you have an excellent diet. Don't know about this particular gentleman but Oden's Hamburger Helper and Tuna tells me he grew up poor and didn't have access to a good diet. I still think Oden could beast out more if he had a good diet. Less sinus infections for sure.

They're both amphetamine-based, so I'm not sure if they're legal, right?

Brian Williams was allowed to play on ADD drugs. Of course, that was before Stern went *completely* insane.

Bison Dele didn't end up much better. :sigh:

I was thinking they'd take him if he was there (that's just too much size and athleticism to ignore) at worst I expect him to turn into a Deandre Jordan clone who will struggle on offense, but will rebound and swat the hell out of shots.

They are but at the same time they are not even close to street 'meth.' (Desoxyn). They're legal prescription medications but I don't know if they're legal to use in the NBA.

I dunno. I saw the "highlight" video of him and I was greatly under impressed. I suspect that's the real reason. He's a stiff.

Paul Westphal's offense is the closest thing to ADD basketball around, so he ended up in a good place.
