I wonder if the thunder let him go after this?

There would be plenty of teams knocking down his door, and GS would be the loser since they just signed Kerr(no slight on Kerr)

Furthermore would you rather have stotts or brooks?

I think Brooks is the Western Conference's Mike Brown. They are good in spite of Brooks, not because of. If you have Durant, any team is going to look good.

Only Pops could have led the Thunder past the Spurs.

I'll stick with Stotts.

I don't think they will let him go and I would rather have Stotts.

Both coaches coached admirably. Only an idiot would fire either one.

If Frank Vogel can keep his job after the timultuous year he had, Scott should be a lock.

Furthermore, If OKC can lock up Durant long term, I could see this being destination for Pop when Tim finally retires.

Brooks has at most 1 year left before he's fired.

personally I see Duncan/Ginobli/pop all going out together never to be heard from again.

Easily Stotts. Brooks is terrible.

Can you really blame Vogel? Seems like the players just turned on each other at the first sight of adversity, would be hard to coach up weak minded individuals.

Brooks isn't being fired. I think he sticks around until they lose in the first round.

That team needs a trade in the worst way. The RW/Durant combo isn't working. I would trade Westbrook for Kevin Love.

Minnesota would never do that. They would have to work in Ibaka and Rubio or something.

Why would Minnesota "never do that?" Westbrook is a star. He's locked in for another couple seasons. He's much more value than they will get from any other team. RW could go to Minny and instantly be the man.

Its such a guard / wing league right now. Dont you think Westbrook and Ibaka are more valuable than Love?

Durant doesn't play nearly as well with Westbrook. When RW was out, Durant went full Jordan mode. He defers to him. It's just a bad situation. They need Westbrook off the team. I think they could play Love with Ibaka.

No way in hell GS would consider Brooks. They just shitcanned Mark Jackson in large part because he loves hero ball and ISOs. Brooks is the same coach, minus all the catchphrases.

In this case I totally agree with Charles Barkley; their offense is a HUGE problem, and they haven't addressed it for the last 3 seasons or so. Part of that is Brooks' lack of a system and unimaginative playcalling. Part of that is the front office just flat out not getting enough scoring role players, especially bench players and especially one or two guys in the front court with some scoring ability.

Would it be nuts for a team like the Thunder to fire Brooks on the basis that they just want to go in another direction? Seems reasonable enough to me. They're close to the top right now, but IMO Brooks is the biggest thing holding them back right now. They could move RW, but unless Love is coming back you're not going to get better talent.

Brooks isn't going anywhere soon. I'd be surprised if he were fired in a year of record coach firings, I think he's safe.

That's very interesting, actually. Rubio setting the table for and dishing to Durant and Love, while Westbrook gets to be "the man" on a team with an Ibaka/Pekovic frontcourt. That might actually be a good deal for both squads.

You made the decision too easy. Replace stotts with a turd sandwich and then id have a hard time deciding between brooks and the sandwich but at least it required thought making it thread worthy.

Because they have Rubio...really, that needed clarification?

From the huddles they show on TV, Brooks comes off as a good coach. Nice, humble, honest, cares about his players. I like him. I feel the same way about Stotts. I think Brooks might get fired though. They need a change to get to the next level. He had his chance. Westbrook and Durant scoring all the points doesn't work. Stotts hasn't run his course in Portland though. He has his guys on the rise and not in the rut OKC is in.

Stotts probably has two more years to get it right. Next year he'll need to show marked improvement, and if we get to the 2nd round, I think he's safe. Anything less than that, he's gone. However, if in 2016 it hasnt gotten any better, he's gone.

And yeah, Brooks has had his chances. Like i've said, he's not a good coach because of OKC's record. OKC's got a good record in spite of Brooks. He's the Mike Brown of the west.

Mike&Mike are bashing Brooks for OKC having no offense. Then Antonio Davis came on the show and said the same thing. He's to coaching what Nate McMillan is to coaching
