I heard that Terry Stotts will quit if Taggert leaves, and Jonathan Smith will find out he has a years worth of eligibility left.

I'm more concerned about the rock-star coaching staff than the recruits.

What all of these guys lack though, is a National recruiting presence. Taggart has that, but I'm done with him. In Arizona recruiting on Oregon's dime, and meeting FSU officials thete? Fuck that

I can't fault a guy that much. Yeah, you shouldn't be shirking your job and potentially losing recruits, but my last job offer battle was pretty intense for me and I wasn't about to decide on the one chance i have to make life-changing money.

Especially if Uncle Phil says "give me a chance to match"?!

You owe it to your family to take that interview. If the kid doesn't understand that or that's the final straw, well, them's the breaks. If you had a shot with him, meet him Thursday after signing your fat new deal and say "Look, man, I just made 40M. The first thing I did was come see you, b/c I think you're important to the program"

If he's willing to take Phil's money I'm more than fine with him staying. Taggart has more than proved his worth in recruiting to warrant top pay in at leas the Pac 12. When has Oregon ever had such a promising class?? Recruiting is like 90% of college football success.

I'm sure he'd still want to be here but just be compensated well for how hard he works recruiting. It's not an easy job haha

Like who? How many people can recruit like he does? He hasn't even had time to run HIS offense yet either. I'll be extremely saddened if he leaves because it ultimately means oregon will have a brand new staff again minus Leavitt staying... another rebranding... Herbert's third year in a row with different coordinators/HC's.

If Taggart leaves it's a disservice to the kids in this program who deserve so much more than be in coaching limbo.
 
He's doing his due diligence. I can't fault him for that......just don't leave.
