OT: Willie, Won’t He

I'm hearing that they may well make Cristobal the HC, and from what I recall he was the top recruiter on the staff. I've also heard that Leavitt absolutely refused to even consider going with Taggart to FSU. Very possible the majority of the coaching staff stays.

We may not be as bad off as it initially seems.
Yup, I think it ends up as Mario as HC or we bring in a big money dude that PK wants AND we pay guys like Mario a lot of money.

Whatever the Ducks do, they had better do it PDQ and it had better be exciting if they want to keep their commits.

We won't lose much respect if the rest of the staff decides to stay. Dream jobs happen for people.
As an outsider, I don't think any respect has been lost. FSU job opened up twice in 40 years. Dream job for Taggart. Kind of a no brainer for him. I said it before in this thread, this does not reflect negatively on Oregon at all.

Fuck this guy, maybe this is the fucking reason we hired from within all those years. Loyalty does mean something... Willie Taggart did "Do Something" this season... and that something is drive a fucking knife in the back of the Oregon Ducks. Our rivals are fucking laughing at us, we are the joke of CFB now. Now our recruiting will tank, we are gonna lose good coaches, and end up barely making or not making bowls at all for the next few years. FUCK WILLIE TAGGART.

Good. It should be about education, not athletics.

I understand his decision, it's his dream job. But that doesn't mean we can't be pissed at him for potentially setting our program back a few years. Shit for all we know, they had this all planned out for months and he was busy recruiting for FSU on Oregon's dime. Good ol boys

Cool. Less focus on athletics in college. I consider that a win!

Dickie V knows what's up!

I completely disagree with Dickie V. The kids are a lot more important than the football program. If the kids want to keep their commitment, follow the coach, go to the rival, or not play at all, it should be completely up to them. Why should they be restricted just because a coach made a decision?

The kids are generally committing to a coach anyhow. The personal 'father figure' man is a whole lot more important than the location a school is located at.

I'm 99.9% sure that was not the case

Taggart just knee-capped the Ducks football program. Jeezus.
