I guess I should amend that to read:

On what planet does a team with a losing record deserve two Western Conference all-stars?

After all, a team with a losing record could very well end up a top 4 seed in the East.

No to the All-Star team for Pek, yes to a guest appearance on Grimm.

"When Love made a late surge in the voting and surprisingly passed Houston center Dwight Howard to earn a starting nod, it may have made Pekovic's prospects a little tougher. The West is loaded with talent this season, and big men like Howard, DeAndre Jordan from the Clippers, DeMarcus Cousins of the Kings and Anthony Davis of New Orleans all figure to garner interest as well."

Is it just me, or is there a certain two-time all-star who is having a career year absent from that list? A certain player who's averaging 5 more PPG and 2 more RPG than Pekovic? A certain player who has led his team to a suprising 33-12 record compared to Pekovic's Timberwolves who are a disappointing 21-22?

He's more suited to the Superman franchise

BTW, that line of "logic" makes no sense. Are they trying to say that if Love wouldn't have been voted a starter, Pekovic would have had a chance of getting in as a reserve ahead of Love? The fact that Love passed Dwight Howard in fan voting didn't hurt Pekovic's chances in any way.

You guys are aching for some more Oden dick picks eh?

I'm sorry...what moron wrote that drivel?

Considering it was a Timberwolves fan that responded "HELL NO", I think were safe.

Are we still calling ponderguy a Wolves fan? I thought he had stuck around long enough for us to be divested of that notion.

LMA is a lock, so they were mentioning the more fringe guys. Howard should be a lock, too, but Houston getting 2 All-Stars may not make a lot of sense.

I see nothing wrong with the Wolves pushing to try and make one of their key players an AS. It won't happen and is bound to fail but its good when a team backs one of their own.

At 29-17 it makes a lot more sense for the Rockets to have two all-stars than it does for the underachieving Timberwolves.

This. Blazers have done similar type of promotions for all star games. Pek is having a career year . . . not enough IMO, but not completely out of left field for Minny to try and get him into the AS game.

After another three full minutes without an NBA injury, Wolves announce that Nikola Pekovic is out 7-10 days with bursitis in right ankle

It's nice that the MIN organization is pimping their player, but seriously - not a chance in hell. Especially now that the all-star ballot no longer has a category for "center" (no more Jamaal Magloire type "all-stars"). He's having a good year, but how in the hell can anyone possibly justify a .500 team having BOTH of their front court players on the Western Conference all-star team? There will only be 5 or 6 total front court players on the West squad. No way does MIN deserve 2 of those spots, because if they REALLY had two of the best 5 or 6 big men in the conference they would not be struggling to get above .500.

Well, that sucks. Pek isn't my favorite player, but I hate to see anyone get injured. Hopefully, he won't be out long.

The whole injury excuse in MIN is bullshit. Until now, their top 7 players have missed a total of 3 games all season. Love has missed 1 game and Kevin Martin 2 games. Pek, Rubio, Brewer, Barea and Cunningham haven't missed a single game (so far). So, this whole MIN injury excuse is lame. They've had one of the healthiest teams in the league so far this season. Injuries haven't been holding them back, under performing has.

no ones used it this year for minnesota. He said an NBA injury, not a Wolves injury

Ah, my bad. Poor reading comprehension on my part. I thought he was saying 3 minutes since a MIN injury.

Still feel bad for Pek, though. Hopefully it will heal quickly and he'll be back soon. They need him if they hope to have any chance to make the playoffs. He's playing MUCH better this year than I thought he would. I've always liked him as a wide bodied banger, but in the past his defense sucked so bad he was sort of a white J.J. Hickson - good individual stats, but not really helping his team win. Well, this year his own production is up and he's doing a better (passable) job getting back on defense.

Because I said so. I am the anti stern

My question still stands. Is there any logical sense to it? (I'm like one of those reporters that is asking a question I already know the answer to... but alas, I ask anyway).
