I assume it was retaliation, but why did he think he was retaliating? I've yet to see any video that shows Adams should be suspended. RoLo could have punched Howard to retaliate after Howard elbowed him, but fortunately, RoLo isn't an idiot.

It looked to me like he quite suddenly and violently went after the guy, so after 5+ decades of watching basketball I naively assumed he had just been the recipient of an injurious cheap shot.

You assume he just decided to throw away a possible championship for no reason at all.

He too a step onto the court and then backed up. Rasual Butler took two steps onto the court. In Stern's NBA, they'd be suspended. Silver will probably take it easy on him.
