He was dealt to the knicks, who never had a PG and then to the Clippers...what did you expect?
I expected those teams to lose, because that is what teams where Zach plays do.

Actually we were the suckers who took back Steve Francis' contract and Channing Frye.
Yeah, as I said, the results so not favor your point of view. You wanted Pritchard fired the night he traded Zach. That says it all to me. How many Clipper games do you go to in order to support Zach?

what's the clippers record this year with zach and without?
They are 16-50. Who cares?
Why don't you offer a detailed summary of why keeping him would have helped the Blazers. I have to wonder, because the one thing that Zach has proven is that he is one of the worst primary scorers in terms of helping his team win games that I've seen in the NBA.
Because he can score and rebound. would have been nice in the 2nd unit versus what we currently have at that position (frye and the ghost of steve francis)
Meh. Getting his loser ass out of the locker room instantly made the deal a winner IMO.
Perhaps. But now our backup PF situation sucks.

You can probably find a much cheaper backup PF in free agency who would be a better fit chemistry-wise than a guy who commands the ball and makes $16 mil per.
ZBO only commands the ball because his teams have had no offensive options. He is a good put-back and offensive rebounding player. We would have been deadly if we had a guy like him in our second unit who could board, play inside and score.

At $16 mil per for a backup PF who would get 10-15 mins a game at most? No thanks.

There is no evidence to support your claim. ZBO commands the ball because he wants to shoot the ball on every possesion. It wouldn't matter who else was on the team.
This idea that Z-Bo would come of the bench is absurd. There is not one chance in hell Stat-Bo would come off the bench. Z-Bo would pout if he was behind Tim Duncan.
Fuck that guy. He is, and always will be, a loser who gets meaningless stats on shitty teams.
Rudy was a deal for cash.

james jones was just a throw-in perhaps..someone pritch wanted... but we could have bought rudy anyway.
You must not understand, the Blazers couldn't have acquired James Jones for cash. It can't happen under the CBA. The price to acquire Fernandez was to take Jones, and how we got Jones without giving up a player? The trade exception.
Phoenix would have likely sold their pick anyway, given their history.
James Jones...where is he now...yeah...gone. I was in the Martell > Jones camp anyways.
No. The acquisition of James Jones was a result of the ZBO trade due to the trade exception. We bought rudy.
Rudy could have been had independent of the Zach trade.
The new assistant general manager, in his third week on the job, suggested making a deal in which the Blazers added Fred Jones in the New York trade in order to receive a $3 million trade exception. That trade exception, in turn, could be used to relieve Phoenix of James Jones' $3 million salary in addition to acquiring the 24th pick.
"And the way we looked at it, from a talent standpoint, we were trading Zach for Channing, James Jones and Rudy Fernandez, plus cap flexibility in two years (Steve Francis buyout).''
Again, history shows us that Phoenix is willing to sell their first round pick for cash.
