OT: ZBO is averaging 4 dimes a game!

Iverson is my least-favorite NBA player ever. I hope that Memphis cuts his ass and improves and he sits home because no one in the NBA is stupid enough to give him big minutes.

Hey- Memphis knew who they were getting when the signed him. Start the MVP.

Nice to see that Iverson is already working on being a cancer, after one game:

barfo

He's one of the greatest players in the history of the game and he wasn't on the floor when the game was on the line.

According to half you guys on here, I thought we are!

Not after a game where we give up 74 and hold Durant to 3-21. It's all about the ebb and flow, if we give up 110 tonight and lose, then we'll be the worst. :ghoti:

This is going to be a circus, and not going to end real well. At least he's made the Grizzlies somewhat watchable now as we wait for the next blowup to happen.

I really thought we ruined Zach's game. He was a freaking monster when his role was garbageman. When we stripped the roster of talent and came up with the idea that he should be a #1 option, he ignored so much of what made him effective. He took the criticism that Rasheed refused to put the team on his back too far. He thought he had to carry 100% of the offensive load. As a result he ignored defense and became Stat-Bo.

He was always a knucklehead, but if he could have just been limited to crashing the boards and scoring in the low post, I think he would have embraced being a Brian Grant/Buck Williams-like player. Instead, he got the max contract and thought people wanted him for only 47 feet.

I'm watching the game right now. I'm telling you, Memphis could cause some teams problems this year. They had on the floor- Gasol, ZBO, Gay, Mayo and A.I. Not a lot of D being played, but that is a ton of firepower!

More like NONE. They just gave up 127 points to the worst team in the league whose previous season high was 94.

So far, they are scoring an average of 107 PPG. That sounds impressive - until you realize they are giving up 115.8 PPG.

You know when talking about one of the worst defensive teams in the league, that is a plural statement, as in there are several. :tsktsk:

And the proper response by a vet who has been injured all pre-season and the first three games of the regular season is to bitch about it to the meida after his first game back . . . and first game played for his new team.

I'm guessing the Griz are regretting the signing.

I partially agree with this. Zbo was the ultimate garbage guy and was great in that roll. But I don't think you can blame the Blazers for his lack of work ethic and dedication. He should know what he needs to do to be successful. It seems like he's always been a selfish person and the max contract just validated him in his eyes. If he would have never gotten that contract, I still think he would have done his best to earn that contract through scoring point and grabbing boards.

That seems to happen all too often in the NBA, where a guy is expected to be, and paid like a #1 option when he isn't that and shouldn't be asked to be.

I always knew Zbo was a 4 dime bag a game type of player. :ghoti:

I think he worked his ass off to come back from microfracture. He's never going to look like Kevin Willis, but every year he brought a new piece to his offensive repetoire. Unfortunately, some of the other pieces he brought were a Glock, roofies and weed.

Zach would be great off the bench for us, if he had a reasonable contract. I bet Nate could straighten him out. :devilwink:

I am well on the record that AI is absolutely the last NBA player I'd want on the Blazers.

When it all boils over, maybe Zach will punch him in the eye socket. :) Mini gang war to follow. :devilwink:

Of course he could. Because you know how it is, when a player comes to play for the Blazers, they are automatically better than other players in the league. That's just the way it works!:shitstorm:

No, Nate would ruin him. He'd stifle his creativity by not allowing him to play in the "European Style*" that he's most comfortable playing.

* flashy passes, lots of turn overs, no defense

I think Nate tried, but he was lost by then. Mo Cheeks was a nice guy, but what a crappy coach. That is not a job for someone who wants to be liked.

Didn't I see Cheeks on the OKC bench?

Not to completely take the thread off track, but I see remarkable similarities between Mo Cheeks and Jim Zorn.

So, let's get back to Z-Bo! I bet he gains 20 lbs by the end of the year. Memphis is a great eating town, but not exactly low calorie vittles.

ZBo has looked significantly better than Aldridge so far this season. He's been a better passer, rebounder, and scorer.

Just sayin.

Allen Iverson will just have to learn the hard way. This is Zach Randolph's team brah, it doesn't need any other leaders.
