Zombie OT: Zion

Just curious, if you were in charge of the team what would you do to give us a chance at a guy like Zion?

Short of getting rid of Dame or him having an injury that costs him a whole season (like Porzingis this year), I don't see a team with him on it being bad enough to get a high pick.
It's far too late for that now.

Yeah, obviously. I'm asking what you would've done differently?
CJ for picks would be the starting point. We would not have been bad enough to be in great position to get him, but it would have given us a chance.

Going back years there are so many things I would have done different. Hell, it probably would be awful, but I would not have let the fucking cake bake

You can get sick off of cake batter if you don't properly bake it.

Okay, let's say we did trade CJ to Orlando for their 1st and expirings early enough to tank. Orlando finishes exactly the same (currently the 12th pick) and we tailspin down to about where the Pelicans are at 9th.

That gives us a 4.5% chance with one of the picks and 1.5% chance for Zion with the other one. Is that better to you than being in the mix for home court advantage again?

Yes. We are simply not a championship level team right now

In before “yeah, he got 31 against #3 UNC, but he played >30 minutes, took 19 shots and had ZERO assists. On a team with multiple 1st round picks!”

I was busy earlier, did he play tonight?

Has he played well enough against quality competition yet?

Seems like he's gonna be a great player. his scoring efficiency is impressive although I wouldn't say he's dominant. Gonna be the first pick, though, and a long time all star
I agree.
Ja Morant , of Murray State, the second pick.
