OUCH, I thought this was better

PER isn't everything, but I also think people are overrating Freeland because he was so bad last year, and this year he actually resembles an NBA player.

I do understand it isn't a end rule. But that big of a discrepancy (-6 or worse) starts giving you a bigger understanding that a player isn't as good as you think.

What was Joel's discrepancy last year? Just curious.

It's really weird, but I thought freehand was doing sooo well. He is getting a 10.5 PER, but giving up 20 (-9.5). Even Lopez is behind, getting a 15.1 PER and giving up 20.3

I think Lopez is pretty good at contesting shots off of dribble penetration, but as a one-on-one defender against other bigs I sometimes feel like he's not all that effective.

Maybe our point guards and centers should be measured in purr instead of per.

See, now this guy gets it. Btw, is that a picture of your chew toy?

Maybe defense doesn't win championships. I hear that it does, a lot. The Champs tend to be outstanding on offense, and can be middle of the pack on defense.

PER in a vacuum may not tell the whole story, but PER for and PER against do paint a decent picture. Looks to me like the "rim protecting" C is downright terrible on defense, but the team record is outstanding.

What's captured is something like Horford schools Lopez. What's not captured is Lopez alters enough shots by opponents at other positions to more than make up for it.

I just don't think we'd go after Lowry and it's mostly because of Olshey's relationship to Mo Williams and why he came here, I just don't think Olshey would compromise that and his rep with players/agents and send Mo to Toronto, much as I would love to seem go if Lowry is coming back!
I think you are right.
