Getting Lambier as a big man coach or being inspired by the play of Swanigan is all at the behest of Meyers himself. Meyers is stuck in his own head. He has allowed the fear of failure to blanket him. Its mind over matter and in Meyers case matter has consumed him. The only way for Meyers to succeed is to get on that court and play without reservation. He needs to forget about his pretty hair getting messed up, or his teeth getting knocked out, or the discomfort of physical contact. Meyers needs to stop being a pussy.
Maybe its as easy as taping a bag of lucky charms to the bottom of his truck and telling him its heroin and that you've called the cops like in Talledega Nights. He just needs to find his speed. Problem for Meyers is maybe he just wasn't good to begin with. Maybe he needs a new team and a fresh start. Who the hell knows.
I'll tell you this I grew up playing street ball on the local court. I'm not a big guy, but I've gone up against guys more than twice my size and defended them successfully. Its all in the minds eye. There is a toughness required that Meyers just might not have. I hope it is hiding there just under the surface waiting to be revealed whether he stays here or not. He's a good guy, I'm just not sure if he's willing to get into the car with the cougar, im not sure if hes cut out to be a basketball player.
