They better do something to correct this because we have a lot of young guys we're developing and it would be horrible if they develop bad habits.

At one point in the last game I was actually jealous of the Knicks defense and it made me sick. I actually felt dirty. Being jealous of the Knicks is bad... being jealous of a D'Antoni defense is bad... the two together is god awful.

I hope Thorn makes a move and brings in a better SF with defensive skills to help stop the bleeding and help get these young guys thinking defense again.

It's the perimeter that has been killing us. Brook is good. Yi defends the post well, but when he's more than 6ft from the basket he is awful. Players like Jamison, Harrington, and Thomas kill him. Najera will help as a 4 defender off the bench.

Gerald Wallace makes the most sense for this team because he can guard the perimeter and play some PF in a smaller lineup.

Hey guys, this is a team sport. When the forward beats his man, the center HAS to be at the paint to cut him off. Guarding his man is great, but the big man's primary job on D still is to guard the basket. If that means giving his own man a 12-footer over Bobby, so be it. He is making the forwards look like shit defenders because he is not covering the paint.

Damn, I wish we could get Collins back for Swat plus. We miss an experienced center terribly. Brook is going to be great one day, but this year he is just a rookie. To hell with top 3 pick or the ROY. Can't we get Robin for Swat plus?

I agree...perimeter defense has been TERRIBLE every year under Frank. I have serious issues about the defensive schemes deployed by our coach. You also see guys just drop off and push players into help defense behind them, which, if this is the intent, has not worked and creates a laziness in defensive work ethic. My 2 cents.

yeah this team doesn't play much D. I watch Ryan anderson and Yi alot and they don't have much lateral foot sppeed. Watch, you'll see what I mean. Yi is much worse than Ryan and i think that a lot of the poor perimeter defense is because everyone is cheating towards the middle because Yi can't guard his man. The defense gets better in the fourth quarter because Yi is usually on the bench. Simmons isn't as bad as everyone thinks though.

The perimeter is killing us because they have to help the bigs in the post. I think the D has improved, still pretty bad but there is definite improvement.

Yi is a horrible defender in just about every aspect. Simmons is ok against middle of the pack SF's. He's not athletic enough to handle any above average SF. Having holes like that make it damn near impossible to close out on the perimeter. We'r either behind when teams spread the ball because simmons and yi do not have the speed to cover the perimeter or we'r behind because we have to double almost everytime yi get's posted up, hence every kick out is pretty much an open shot. It's not a good combination to have.

Solution-1) Tell Yi to hit the weight room and get some toughness or go get a REAL power forward, so we dont have to double down on every post up. 2) Find an athletic SF who at the very least can cover the other teams 3's.

I totaly agree.

Yeah our bigs are young and lack experience. I still would rather they learn how to defend and let someone score 2 pts on them. Then to have a perimeter player help out and let the other team score 3pts.

Also Frank needs to stop playing a zone when the other team has good shooters.

Yes, agree about the zone defense against teams with good shooters. When I see him bring that out with shooters on the floor...and stick with it when we get burned...I just don't get it. I have seen them use the zone to great affect when the right guys are on the floor and they can close out, but this doesn't always happen. Sometimes laziness just creeps into the team when they go zone.
