I don't think we got fleeced. But it's like a bleh/blah feeling right now. Kind of underwhelming. Losing Rudy isn't that big of a deal since we've got Roy/Mattews/Batum who could fill his shoes. And replacing Miller with Felton is a wait-and-see kind of thing but he is younger.

Not drafting Faried is a head-scratcher. We'll never get that bruising, hard-nosed backup PF!!!!!

That's my biggest concern. Then again, I think it's a good indication that the Blazers are going to do what they can to convince Greg Oden to stay in Portland.

Our front office is not a joke...jokes are funny. This is just sad and embarrassing.

I love it. a month ago:

"let's trade rudy for ANYTHING we can get. he fucking sucks!"

we trade him

:MARIS61:
OMG we got hosed!!!! he's goign to blow the fuck up now!

Miller 2009-10 Regular Season:

PER = 17.8
ORtg = 111
DRtg = 108
WS = 7.0
WS/48 = 0.124

Raymond Felton 2009-10 Regular Season:

PER = 16.6
ORtg = 108
DRtg = 111
WS = 5.4
WS/48 = 0.094

Miller 2010 Playoffs:

PER = 18.9
ORtg = 114
DRtg = 117
WS = 0.4
WS/48 = 0.106

Raymond Felton 2010 Playoffs:

PER = 11.2
ORtg = 94
DRtg = 111
WS = 0.0
WS/48 = -0.001

Felton's PER of 16.6 was a career high and was greatly inflated by playing over 2/3 of his games in D'Antoni's system. His PER in Denver was only 14.7, which is very close to his career average of 14.5.

Yeah, Miller is older, but he's an iron man who is still more productive than Felton, who, other than 54 games under Mike D'Antoni, is, and has always been, a below average NBA player. If the goal is to win more games next season, I don't see how that accomplishes that goal.

Well, maybe Denver will elect not to pick up Miller's team option and we can resign him. Otherwise, this sure looks like a downgrade of talent to me.

I can't speak for anyone else, but I didn't want to trade Rudy.

Ed O.

I didn't either. but many here were calling for his head.

Is there a source saying Hamilton is ours?

Why in the world did anyone want to KEEP Rudy?! Seriously?! What more did (or less) did he have to do before some of you realized he was not going to pan out in the NBA? Sheesh.

If he does I think that will be some fairly compelling and damning evidence about Nate.

I don't think so. Rudy just isn't a Nate player. The shitty thing is that Rudy is an asset that we squandered. He didn't fit here, but that doesn't mean he doesn't have talent.

No more Rudy running pick-and-rolls, or Andre's lobs. That's too bad. LA lost his two best alley-oop connections.

We'll see how he does in Dallas, huh?

And we'll see how whatever we have as backup shooting guard does, too, huh?

Ed O.

I think so too. It's a perfect system for him.

A perfect system how? To get him more open treys to either brick or pass up because he's too timid to take them? Did you watch him play at all this year?

Ed, the man shot 37% from the floor, 32% from 3, passed up painfully open looks and can't play man defense. What are we losing by trotting any NBA journeyman out there in his place? He averaged under 3PPG in the playoffs on 22% shooting. Please, tell me why I should be concerned he's gone?

Brandon Roy?

Limping Roy was better than Rudy.

rudy was good his rookie year and has stunk since, we probably should have dealt him back then, oh well, ciao

Well a silver lining this trade guarantees not having a first round playoff exit and we pick up a lottery pick for next year! Bonus points for having to convey our 2013 lottery pick to Charlotte.

Rick Carlisle won't likely force a slashing player to be a stand and shoot player. Look at Dallas' offense and then look at Rudy playing international ball.

LOL, PA left Larry Miller to explain this clusterfuck.

It might just be a jaundiced view on my part, but Miller doesn't seem very enthusiastic.

I just turned on Comcast Sportsnet (channel 179 up here in Seattle) so I get to watch it.

yay

Ed O.

I kind of feel the same.

And that makes the trade MUCH more disturbing.

Yes, it does.

We could have just drafted Smith and kept Miller. We could have then kept Hamilton. Or Rudy. Or whomever.

Meh.

Ed O.

i honestly don't feel the doom and gloom that you guys do...i thought it was a solid trade. the faried part sucks tho

Yeah, Smith+Miller+Hamilton

I'd be much happier.

Spears is on 750 right now, talking bad about Felton, saying he's not in the best shape, rubbed some people in Denver the wrong way.

Basically, saying we fell flat on our face with the trade.

and the bobcats sold tyler to golden state? we cant fucking get in on that?
