I think with Ed gone, it frees a lot of room for mostly 3 players: Zach, Caleb and Meyers. Aminu is still with us and would probably play most of his minutes at the 4, we have Nurkic at the 5. But behind them, it's those 3 players.
I think the biggest question mark here is Meyers. He's gonna get at least some chance and I actually believe he has it in him to make the jump into really contributing.

this thread is ok, don’t need to shit on the guy for no reason.

Right now Meyers will have a real shot at playing. It’s either going to be him or Biggie in the rotation with the way the current roster is constructed.

God help us.

Why do this to ourselves every year with Meyers... The Minutes will be Nurk, And Aminu with Collins getting the rotation minutes, we may see some ML and Caleb early in the year because Stotts likes to go deep in that bench the first few months of the season, which is part of why they start the year off so slow.
I think we should collectively decide to just not ever talk about Meyers until A) He contributes to winning 5 NBA games, B) Trading him, or C) Trading him...

Random thought bubble doez

He literally just made a Bobby Portis thread it if the blue because of our frontcourt situation, svc then he makes another thread to discuss or frontcourt situation..

It is frustrating since he is good on one end of the floor.....shooting 67%/42%/82% (last year)
Pop should actually trade for him. I honestly think he could help him become an average defender, thereby a rotation player.

Not to be a stickler but his field goal percentage was 59%. As far as Pop being able to get more out of him defensively, I don't know. Meyers had 0 blocks last season... absolutely no blocks at all from a guy his size. Seems hopeless to me. I would love it if Pop gave us some value in return for him or even somehow took his contract off our hands.

Aminu is both our best SF and best PF going into next season. I'd like to see him play more 3 and give Collins a shot at PF.

To be fair, though, Harkless bumped up his shooting numbers to 27/52 3pt (51%) and 67/117 FG (57%) in Feb and March before he got injured. We won 68% of those games--that's a 56 win team. If he'd been 100% in the

It wouldn't shock me at all to see us go with the same starting lineup we had during that stretch, with hopefully more production off the bench from Baldwin, Seth Curry and an older Collins.

Our starting center is only 24 this fall, too. It's easy to forget because he's so big and skilled that he's nowhere near his prime yet. Marc Gasol was a rookie when he was 24, and put up almost the exact same stats that Nurk did last year.

I was really hoping we'd make a run at Jimmy Butler or Kawhi Leonard, offering up CJ and pieces. But I can kind of live with things as they are.

Collins still looks very much a project. I love his defense, but his offense is still extremely raw and I'm not sure if he's ready for a bigger role. I'd love to see him expand his role though.

I think Butler could still be an option, and Middleton might be available. Either of those guys would be lovely. But are they worth CJ? I think if we could do CJ for Middleton, then CJ is the better player, so I'd try to dump Turner in the deal for Bledsoe as he's on an expiring contract.

CJ/Turner for Middleton/Bledsoe/Henson.

His offense isn't raw. It's just not his strong suit.

That trade is horrible for Milwaukee.
CJ isnt better than Middleton, and if he is, it's definitely not a big enough difference to dump Turner for Bledsoe.

My bad. I should have broke it out better. I meant 67% from 2pt range, 42% from 3 pt range, and 82% from 3 pt range.
Of course that is in just 8 minutes per game. But the bottom line is he has a nice touch. You are right about his lack of blocks. No feel for it. But I have rarely seen a player on SA that does not play solid team defense. .........

With the last 2 SL games, Biggie just moved back ahead of Biebs.

The 4/5 depth chart looks somthing like this:
Starters: Nurk, Aminu
Bench: Collins>Harkless>Biggie>Biebs

or maybe

5: Nurk>Collins>Biggie>Biebs
4: Aminu>Collins>Harkless

I think Biebs is a distant afterthought in terms of rotation. Seems like a nice enough practice player and a good guy to throw in during blowouts, but man has that ship sailed. I think Biggie was always ahead of him, if only because he's got a tradeable contract. They're both one-dimensional players (rebounding vs perimeter shooting), but age and contract makes all the difference.

In some alternate reality we paid all that money to Georgios Papagiannis and Biebs is in Greece. And not one damned thing is different for our team.

I don’t know if David West is available or willing to be here, but I think he could be a good veteran presence for the bigs, he’s prettyb crafty, tough as nails and I could see him having a role if he’s willing to do it.

West retired recently. He's done playing for the vets' minimum.

What the hell happened to Greg Monroe? He got no run in the ECF with Boston.
