maybe none, but that won't make him the 6th man winner. Fair or not, it's always been a scorer's award

Przy did that tonight, plus Joel
West also went for 24/7 this year in a Golden State loss in which Turiaf played 24 minutes and didn't score. Also, West had 12 points, 15 rebounds, and 4 assist in the loss to GS, while Turiaf went for 4 points, 11 rebounds, and 5 fouls. A 12/15 game isn't bad IMO. Peja sucked in that game; that was why New Orleans lost.
I just don't see Turiaf getting minutes on the Blazers. He is a bench player with limited skills for the Warriors. He's certainly not worth getting rid of Travis Outlaw for in a head-to-head deal.![]()
Turiaf isn't leaving GS. He's one of the players that give 100% effort on offense and defense. He'd be one of the last players moved.
Jason Maxiell is probably available with the glut of PFs that they have in Detroit. His game is very similar to Turiaf's and it would probably only take Outlaw to get him.
5-16 from the field isn't exactly a banner day for West.

First of all, Outlaw for Maxiell is a steal for Detroit. Secondly, Maxiell makes half of Outlaw in terms of contract, so Detroit would have to add to the deal, which they would have to do anyhow even in fantasyland to make the deal.
Maxiell is getting garbage minutes for a sinking Detroit team and can't shoot outside of a lay-up. Sometimes I just scratch my head and chuckle at some of the proposals I see on this board.
Roy was 2-10 tonight. Trade for Rasual Butler immediately!![]()
I know you love Outlaw, but Maxiell is exactly what the Blazers need. He's not playing much this season, but that has more to do with Detroit's rotation being completely screwed than his skill. He signed an extension this off season for a reason.
Max+Herrman works. We can cut Herrman.
Maxiell is a PG who can defend the perimeter?
It's posts like this that make me block you dude. 15 rebounds is a great number for west, but do you think he was happy shooting 5-16? If you WATCHED the game, which I did, you would have seen that Turiaf bothered West throughout the game. He altered his shot, he kept him out of the paint on offense, and he pretty much made him a non-factor in terms of scoring. The Hornets lost.
My point is, it's nice to have someone who comes off the bench and plays physical defense against a guy like Turiaf. I'm not saying they shut him down, but they definitely cause him some trouble.

A hard-nosed backup power forward who will play great defense and get hustle points.
I just don't agree with your take on Turiaf. No need to block me for that, is there? I offered up some stats that show West had an impact on the game. I see that game as more of an outlier than anything, and Turiaf still almost fouled out of it.
I don't understand the ignore stuff. I can handle that people don't agree with all of my opinions, but I don't think that it means they don't "know basketball" if they don't think like me. Yet I won't block you or anyone, Nate.![]()

You were blocked a long time ago, sir. Nothing personal, but your posts make this forum less fun to visit, thus the blocking.![]()
Maxiell would be great to have.
I'm not entirely sure how or why you are responding directly to my posts if you blocked me, but whatever.
Trade Outlaw for Turiaf! Is that better? It's OK to not have all of the answers, Nate. I understand that some people can't handle differing opinions, however, so if your ego is propped up by blocking those that poke holes in your theories on improving the team, so be it. I mean no harm; I'm just here to cheer for the Blazers.
I can view individual posts. Rest assured, you're still blocked.
With that said, I never proposed an Outlaw for Turiaf trade in this thread. I did ask what it would take to get him, though.
The reason why you are blocked has nothing to do with your opinions and everything to do with how you present them. There are other posters on this forum that I disagree with, and whom I have traded PM's with, but they are not blocked. You are an unpleasant person, thus the blocking.
Maxiell for Webster? Maybe
Maxiell for Outlaw? Are you really being serious here?
Outlaw is an up-and-down player. That tonight is an "up" night doesn't influence whether I'd want to trade him or not in the least.
Ed O.
i would probably trade outlaw for maxiell if webster comes back healthy, and has atleast a little improvement over last year. we probably wont know that till after the trade deadline, so maybe i'd do outlaw for maxiell in the offseason.
and i am glad you arent either. since you seem to think outlaw is so good.I am so glad that your aren't KP.

He's better than Maxiell, and I don't think he's "so good". I just don't think he's so terrible.
Maxiell sits on his ass for Detroit. What makes him effective in Portland that is worth giving up an unguardable offensive player?
Stats really don't tell the story for a lot of players, and it's certainly true for Max.
