What the area has appeals to me a great deal, but not necessarily FAs.
Basketball reasons are secondary, sometimes even tertiary (#CarmeloWhipped)

I love Oregon, but from the POV of an FA we have:
  • bad weather - rain
  • high taxes (not as good as Texas and other places)
  • "nothing to do" - clubs not open at 3 am
  • longest travel schedule of any NBA team
  • small media market - league bias
  • not hip - being seen at a party in PDX is not a thing/not glamorous
  • not hip, again - hippy liberal culture
  • few hot women - more cute harry-legged women than blonde-haired, blue-eyed scantily-clad.
  • bad geography - even the beach is cold and rainy.

OTOH, we have:
  • great workout facilities
  • rich owner
  • great coach (players and agents around the league have noticed how much players improve under Stotts)
  • rabid fan base
  • good, young team that is on the way UP!

nah...LA is way worse...all the hot young women are with old shriveled up rich men...biggest single man desert on the west coast. Difference is you're going to meet single women in different places in Portland like art galleries or tennis courts...in LA you'll meet them coked up at after hours parties and they'll dump you as soon as someone wealthier shows up with a pile of coke. Not sold!!!!

Yeah, but if you're wealthy or famous and don't want any commitments its great.

lack of hot women for young black millionaires.
Dude, the whole NBA works on the concept of sidepieces.

It doesn't matter what the women are like in Portland when these guys spend like 3 months of the season in other cities.

Yeah, but most of the years there ain't shit to do in Portland. Most would probably get bored as fuck.

"Hey Nico, some girls from Lake Oswego are going to drink at our house later!"

:MARIS61:

"Oh, hot new restaurant in town. Oh, they don't take reservations and we have to stand outside for 2 hours? Great."

"Let's go to Dirty and pop some bottles!"

"Let's go down to the river. These hoes wanna smoke some herb"

Listen, if a player prioritizes things like that, I wouldn't want them anyway. I'm talking basketball wise.

Maybe silly but did you ever read the Tim Donaghy book? He brings up some good points as to why Geography matters in the NBA and sports in general.
