I hate to be a dick and bring it up again, but we really need to bring Boogie in.
Trade anyone not named Dame,CJ or Davis for Boogie, there will be other Aminus.
Oh, and sign Thibs, ffs.
I am too also getting upset with the Dame hate, you could put curry out there instead and the result wouldn't be much different.
I have seen many posts since this series began and even a little before where people constantly hate on dame. I mean yeah we can bring that stat up. Dame has also matured as a player and I think we can all agree on that. He also had to walk on eggshells with Lamarcus because he didn't really know his place while playing with him. Didn't wanna step on any toes as he's put it. It's fine to criticize but when you base it off a stat that can be logically broken down, kinda takes away your point in the first place.Who has been offering up Dame hate? If someone did, that seems to be a very rare poster. However, just because something is pointed out like "he is shooting 17% from '3'since the Rocket miracle" doesn't mean you are a hater.....that is just a stat. It's a stat over 3 years so it's not just in isolation and it carries over different types of rosters. I think people can make an observation like that without it being hate in the least.
The Blazers were just undermanned and many people didn't want to believe that. The ones who were open to that Portland was not likely to win this series are not haters, just perhaps a little more realistic......certainly not less of a fan. If being a fan simply means looking at everything through rose-colored glasses, then perhaps the meaning of the word has changed.

Well I'm all for making the Blazers better as a team, Not just keeping players around because they are fan favorites. I will say again, if you can better your team while trading one of your best players you make it priority to do some exploring around. Lots of options this summer for the Blazers!True, you can trade cj and get better but I'm just saying I highly doubt it happens. I can't read minds but I would think Neil and the organizations approach is more to grab a big free agent. Literally a big one whether it's horford or whiteside, etc. we need another wing while we are at it
I will agree. I'm a bit suprised but glad at the same time the refs are letting them play as physical as they are. The more physical the game is the lower the shooting percentage should be.Keep in mind, lots of great players struggling against playoff defense. Isaiah Thomas got shut down, Durant shot 7/33, Lowry has been awful, DeRozen's first two games were awful. It's hard to succeed in playoffs.
The problem is, Portland needs more talent.
And a bunch of cap space.FIFY. Portland's offense isn't very diverse. They only have a couple ball handlers (who are also their shooters) and the rest are basically skilled scrappers. Besides CJ & Dame, no one can do much off the dribble. Not one isolation threat on the block. On D, Aminu is nice but they've an undersized backcourt & Bigs. They are a work in progress and need some major additions if they're to compete at the top of the league. Internal growth alone won't get them to the prize. Neil has some work to do this offseason.

How are these excuses for his bad play? I acknowledge he's playing bad but there is a reason why and it's not an excuse. Dude is getting blitzed out there, has no room to do anything and by the time he has an open shot, he's not even in rhythm. I guarantee if you trap Chris Paul, he's not gonna play well either. It's no excuse, it's a fact. It's what's happeningDouble standards much?
You say it can be logically broken down, but you repeatedly are just giving up excuses for his bad play.
We all love dame. There is not one person on this board that doesnt want him to do well. We are all fans of the blazers.
He hasnt been playing well in the playoffs. Thats the bottom line. We can dissect why, and talk about how cp3 is better than him and doing a great job against him, but the fact still remains he isnt playing well.
I think they sign or absorb the contract of a quality starter. Better than the Aminu signing....in a year where everyone has a bunch of cap space.

Oh it doesn't matter? Ask Steph curry when he could barely do anything against the cavs trapping him last year. We saw how that went down. You can't "raise up" when that sort of defense is thrown at you. I could understand your point if it was just Chris Paul guarding him but it's not. I don't know what you expect him to do in the trap but alrightex·cuse

It doesnt matter what is happening to him. Superstars rise up no matter what defenses are throwing at him. He is a superstar, but he has not done so since the rockets series a couple years ago.

attempt to lessen the blame attaching to (a fault or offense); seek to defend or justify.
"he did nothing to hide or excuse Jacob's cruelty"
Neil has made more right moves then not, but it's been a mixed bag. Things probably will get crazy in FA with all the capspace available around the league. While we'd all love to see them land their first major FA ever, just because they've got some extra cash doesn't mean they need to pay exorbitant rates for meh talent if a buying frenzy breaks out. Any big move in player personnel better be a good one.I think they sign or absorb the contract of a quality starter. Better than the Aminu signing.
I guess we should expect Lillard to just shoot over double teams and average 25 a game on 50 percent shooting then. Early on the other night he had a few easy shots he should of made but I don't get how you think he should do great against the defense he was facing because not many top tier point guards are gonna do good against that defense.Curry was fine.

Youre trying to justify bad play. Which is fine, youre obviously passionate about lillard as you should he. He is a great player. Bottom line is he isnt playing well when we need him the most.
Thibs is the minnesota coach now... is he not?
Wow, i didn't know. That's so sad.

You must have missed my pearl from the "Portland needs to add a go-to player" thread last night.Wow, i didn't know. That's so sad.
At the U.S. Team tryouts, Thibodeau had stars in his eyes whenever he talked about Lillard. He would trade us Andrew Wiggins if Olshey offered Lillard.
So HCP meant we would win 23 in the playoffs? Makes sense now. @HCP you're allowed to be a fan again, but please learn math.I still think we're going to only win 27 games.
