He said they weren't going to make adjustments, that they were going to stick with what got them 54 wins and a first round win. He said our defense is to force midrange jumpers but that just happens to be what Parker is good at.

Unbelievable.

And you say?

The Forum says?

It's a great formula if their ready to go fishing.

Maybe they are. Perhaps they've had enough.

It feels that way. None of them, short of Mo and Dorell, have played at this time of the year. They weren't ready.

Let me just say that I can't believe the disparity between the Rockets and the Spurs is THIS much. San Antonio is good but I think Portland has run out of gas. I feel the last series took everything they had and they have nothing left. Emotionally and physically.

They have one day to prepare, not enough time to install a new defensive scheme. All they can do is try different defensive assignments but an entire new strategy would not work.

Yep. And get this- the Rockets were 4-0 against the Spurs this year.

Yes. You can't expect them to just pull defense out of their butts.

Gotta be realistic with this, also. Dame isn't going to say "We have all these adjustments ready" But, then they come out and don't... well... It's easier to say you haven't changed the schemes and sneak it up on them than to say to everyone that you do have changes and then actually don't. Dame was in a no-win situation there.

That's a reasonable possibility. And it passes the eye test.

I call bullshit on this. Here's why:

These guys have been playing ball their whole lives. Just last year they were hedging on screens. It's not like they can't mix it up a bit hedging sometimes and sometimes not. While always fighting under the picks. That's not a "new defensive scheme". That's simply hedging sometimes and sometimes not. Play basketball.

Do you really expect him to reveal their adjustments to the media before the game?

This.

I can't believe it took a Spurs fan to come in here and explain that he's not going to give away their adjustments before the game.

Dominant bigs give the spurs fits. It would be nice to have a lamonster showing. Leave lamarsha in the locker room. He's letting splitter get in his head for fuck sake. Dunk on that mother fuckers face 15 possessions in a row like dwight did to rolo. Break his will. ITS FUCKING SPLITTER I COULD DUNK ON HI. AND I CANT EVEN TOUCH RIM.

Hopefully, the adjustments would be to set hard picks and wide screens so our shooters can get open. We've had maybe only 10 good looks at the hoop so far.

Freeland leonard twin towers. Tell them who their target is and set hard screens on them for no reason.

What the hell... I pretty much said the same thing. :ghoti:

Unfortunately, we haven't made any significant adjustments previously, so I'm not expecting anything.

Stotts has been terrible during and in between games in the second round thus far. Granted that has a lot to do with Pop being the best.

Nate, you obviously didn't see the interview. He sounded very defeated. He wasn't being sly. He was serious.

What the heck was Lillard supposed to say?

The Spurs are the better team thus far in the series. Just like the Blazers were a better team than the Rockets. The side scrambling to make adjustments is not the better team.

"we have something special planned and we'll see if it works. We're still a confident team.

Brilliant idea to have Nic and Will handle the ball and run plays tonight.

Yep. Batum is the best player in the series. Doing it all on both sides of the court.
