The legislature should not have any say in the decision. They should not be funding college athletics in any way

I'm sure it's true, or at least it's true she wants to try and monkey-wrench the deal. But then, she's an OSU alum serving and area invested in OSU. Bitter beaver tears, but it will do no good:

Do they receive funding from the State at all?

Could Oregon State going to the MWC affect their overall funding?

You can call it Beaver tears if you want. I doubt anything happens from it. Seems like something people would want, you know, government trying to think ahead in terms of budget impacts.

Again, That doesn't mean they will do anything about it.

Are you sure? A pac 6 and ACC team up would have to be a decent media deal.

The alternative is what, 3-5 million per year with the MWC alliance?
 
Better deal for the Beavs/Cougs/Bears/Trees:
  • Become the west-coast arm of the ACC?
  • Try to rope in 6 MW schools (SDSU, FSU, BSU, UNR, UNLV....???) to rebuild a weakened Pac-10?
