Pac 12... 11... 10... 9... 8... 7...6...5...4... POOF!

Really? What happens to Oregon State and Washington State? Will they be joining the B1G?
It's not Oregon/Washington's fault that the Pac-12 commissioners have been so completely inept in terms of securing lucrative media deals over the past 20 years. Oregon has done everything it could over the past few decades to transform themselves into a national brand, and they have been wildly successful at that. Those efforts should have assisted resulted in much more money for the conference as a whole, but the conference commissioners have squandered that asset.

You cannot blame the Ducks for the Pac-12 wasting the opportunities it has had.

I can blame the Ducks for leaving the PAC-12 and joining the B1G.

Cool.

Now back to them bilking people out of money.

TCU made a 4-team playoff last season.

TCU beat Michigan.
Fucking TCU.

I'm aware... You'll never hear me say that every SEC/BigTen team will beat every Big12/ACC team on every head to head matchup. There will always being upsets and outliers, which is why sports is so fun to watch. Oregon will most likely have less conference success moving forward, but they'll also be in a position to have a much higher ceiling when they line up right.

If the goal was to dominate a conference, Oregon could've self-demoted to the BigSky and won every game by 50, but what's the point?

leaving Stanford/Cal/OSU/WSU as a Pac-4. Lots of chatter that Stanford might go independent, but even if they don't, there doesn't seem to be any path for those teams other than joining the MWC.

I'm really hoping that Stanford/Cal are left out in the cold without a home when this is all done.

As someone who hates football maybe you shouldn't be trolling the people who do like it, especially right now.

Just some friendly advice.

When the difference between leaving or staying is 10's of millions of dollars every year, when staying would so massively inhibit their program as to make competing on a national level virtually impossible, there is no logical argument in favor of them staying.

Sure you can.......but it is more emotional than logical. The Ducks held out as long as they could.

I am sick that the Pac-12 is essentially dissolving. I can remember supporting the conference since watching OJ play in the Rose Bowl against Ohio State in the 60s. But you know damn well this is not the Duck's fault.

Not going would have been suicide. No more national brand. Gone.

They would have been relegated to mountain west status.

We needed to keep our big brands so we could get comparable media deals. Once USC and UCLA left the Ducks were stuck waiting for the PAC-12 to pull a rabbit out of a their hat and get a good deal.

The Ducks waited as long as they possibly could.

This sucks.

Those were the only two schools I applied to back in the day. Got accepted to both. Went to OSU. Sometimes I wonder how things would be different had I gone to Pennsylvania..
Unless you had scholarships, shitty. Nonresident tuition sucksssss.

Also, Corvallis rules! You know that.

So what happens to the Rose Bowl?
The Beavs win it this year, obviously.

That was ultimately what it came down to. That and I have pretty much zero family and support on the east coast.

If Oregon plays as a member of the B1G and loses to TCU, what's the point?

You would be a billionaire, married to a supermodel, and serving as US Ambassador to Monaco.

But hey, I'm sure things worked out fine anyway.
