SAN FRANCISCO -- The Pac-12 Conference is standing pat for now.
The league's presidents and chancellors voted late Tuesday night to reaffirm their decision to stay at a dozen members. Commissioner Larry Scott says "after careful review we have determined that it is in the best interests of our member institutions, student-athletes and fans to remain a 12-team conference."
Texas, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State and Texas Tech were among those considering a potential move from the Big 12. After expanding from the Pac-10 with new members Utah and Colorado last year, members of the new Pac-12 won't give them the chance.
The league already negotiated a landmark 12-year television contract with Fox and ESPN worth about $3 billion. And it appears plenty happy at a dozen.

Larry Scott has gained my respect. Texas basically has been saying "We are Texas you NEED us so pay up" and he told them to frak off.

although the SEC said it wasnt taking anyone like 3 weeks before agreeing to aTm

I'm a little disappointed. I wanted to see Texas join. But not so crazy about the OK schools or Texas Tech. Plus I don't really follow college ball. So, I guess I'll be able to survive this blow.

Same. I was excited at the prospect of adding Texas and OU, but..... I also agree with Wheels. We don't need them as much as they seem to think we do. When they start making demands it's sianara.

However, a part of me wonders if this isn't a ploy. OU was making demands and Texas was making demands... maybe we're telling them they need to STFU or it's a no-go.

I'm disappointed. I want the Pac16 or whatever Pac it is to be the best conference so it'll shut up all those fucks down south.

It would have made us a more prestigious conference for sure, but I am happy Larry Scott didn't cave to Texas' demands

Another deal coming soon fiasco overted this time because this one made it to the National media

my first thought on hearing this was a no go is that this might be a negotiating ploy. Maybe this will turn out to be the final say, but I doubt it. Also, I'm fully with the board not wanting to see the PAC-12 subservient to Texas/OU demands.

It's quite simple. If Texas agrees to equal revenue sharing, like USC did when the Pac-10 was expanded to twelve teams, the Pac-12 will invite them. If Texas continues to want to keep its LHN side deal for themselves, the Pac-12 won't invited them. Let them go destroy the ACC or the B1G with their greed.

This.....Exactly

Deal not coming soon.

Lol.

It only goes to show the juvenile attitude of some that insist on bringing up the deal coming soon thread, IMO. The only difference in this situation is that it made it to the national media because it was a national story. Deals fall apart all the time, even one's that were all but done.

I would guess people that do that are either

A. Young
B. Have a small penis
C. Are bullied by their spouses
D. Hate their lives/jobs

More importantly, why do you let it bother you?

A. People on the internet are juvenile.
B. There will always been baiting and trolling on the internet.
C. There's no point in listening to or responding to trolls.
D. Ignore them and move on.

I hate being called a liar by anyone. Integrity is something I have spent my entire life establishing, and internet geeks/trolls or not, it bugs me. I realize I need to let it go

Yeah, but if they know it gets under your skin, they will continue to do it. It's that simple.

There was nothing in RoyToy's post that called you a liar.

That post wasn't even a trolling post. It was a true statement phrased as a joke.

"Deal not coming soon."

if MM feels offended by "true statements phrased as jokes", that's his call.

Personally, I'd rather hear 9 rumors that don't end up happening to eventually get to the one scoop that does. Especially since the source (MM in this case, not his friends) are much more interested in the Blazers and what they're doing than Bucher, Sheridan and the like. If I had to rely on them during the draft, trade deadlines, etc. I might go bonkers. I like coming here and seeing what insiders are hearing. So please don't let the jokers stop you.

For the record, I wasn't offended.

Also for the record, it was a total trolling post. It would have been looked at that way if Mixum had wrote it, I bet.

Stuff like this, it might just be easier to wait until ESPN or whatever breaks it. It was obviously going to be a national story, and there was no need for me to "break" anything. It was only a week, and everyone would have heard

I'll subscribe to your insider news PM letter :)

LOL I don't have any insider news to the Ducks. It just so happened that my boss is extremely connected with Texas and the big 12. I am literally Sgt Schultz on anything Ducks.

But I guess I could start a news letter. It's only $100 a month.

I will have segments on
