They are over the cap somehow and the league has taken him off the Pacers roster, they can still sign him. I'd love to see Neil steal him away for a 2 guard slot in Portland

Why? Ellis was dallas' best player last year and they couldn't wait to get rid of him.

He's a pass for me

Sounds like they will have no problem working it out.

Too bad - I would love to steal Young from them for cap space.

Would be entertaining, but would you want someone who would help us marginally improve like that to where we're not in a good lottery spot, but also likely not competitive enough for playoffs?

If you want a 2 guard who can shoot from deep, he's the guy..44mil contract..well worth it in my view

Lillard and Ellis would be the worst defensive backcourt of all time.

I'd be fine with a short term rental. The plusses are that he's exciting to watch and there'd be no worrying about him messing up "Operation Tank." The only downside is that it might look a little too obvious that were throwing the season.

Why stunt cjs growth for a soon to be 30 year old headcase? He doesn't fit our timeline at all, and truthfully, I think cj could be just as good in a couple years if given the minutes and time to develop.

It makes zero sense.

I don't like the idea of is signing Ellis, but I do like the idea of somehow acquiring an asset in exchange for helping the Pacers clear some cap space. I'll let Neil figure out the particulars.

BNM

How about we just take PG off their hands for a mysterious second rounder?

Don't think he fits into the 'model'

But CJ is already a Blazers. So that automatically makes him better.

And he's a very good Blazers...

I think this would b ideal (I like watching Ellis but I actually don't want him w/ us :tongue2:); we can help a team in the EAST (v. strengthening 1 of our foes in the West), looking like the good guys, & then Neil can make sumthin' ssssweeet happen for us (like u said BNM, "I'll [also] let Neil figure out the particulars.")! In Neil I trust!!!:walkdog:
