Palin similar to W?

Man, they really are scared of this woman.

They haven't done anything that hasn't already been done to Obama.

They're scared of this woman, indeed.

Note that I never found Obama's Pastor (Wright) to be a particularly bothersome issue, either.

It's certainly possible that what the Church said about John Kerry, Bush's critics, and 9/11, happened after Palin left the Church in 2002.

On the other hand, Obama left Trinity after Wright's comments were made public, in this case, Palin bailed six years earlier. There is a difference.

And I didn't find those comments offensive, just stupid.

So Palin is stupid! (And she's a bible-beating homophobe. I want Cheney's daughter to punch her in the face).

It is to me.

Exactly what about it is scary? She's a religious person, cheering on the troops. Maybe cheering on the troops is scary, if your agenda is to see us lose for political gain (the WWW site's agenda).

"Pray for our military men and women who are striving to do what is right. Also, for this country, that our leaders, our national leaders, are sending [U.S. soldiers] out on a task that is from God,"

"So, liek, gawd just told us 2 go kill sum ppl. but he luvs them. srsly"

The scary part is that she says the war is a task given to us from God.

if it walks like a duck & quacks like a duck...

Be afraid if you read a lying, scaremongering WWW site's article.

Its a valid scare tactic just like they use @ Faux news about terrorism or Al Gore about ice caps & polar bears.

If people are such utter pinheads they can not form an opinion for themselves and need someone or organization to do it for them then they do not deserve to shape policy at all period end of story.

re: Matthew 22:21

Looks like a wordy way of saying "Go with God" or "God be with you."

Palin is much more small-minded and, imho, evil than Bush. Small-minded, evil, crazy and hot. I'm starting to find her very attractive.

You guys have read this? http://www.snopes.com/politics/soapbox/kilkenny.asp

"During her mayoral administration most of the actual work of running this small city was turned over to an administrator. She had been pushed to hire this administrator by party power-brokers after she had gotten herself into some trouble over precipitous firings which had given rise to a recall campaign.

Sarah campaigned in Wasilla as a "fiscal conservative." During her 6 years as Mayor, she increased general government expenditures by over 33%. During those same 6 years the amount of taxes collected by the City increased by 38%. This was during a period of low inflation (1996-2002). She reduced progressive property taxes and increased a regressive sales tax which taxed even food. The tax cuts that she promoted benefited large corporate property owners way more than they benefited residents. The huge increases in tax revenues during her mayoral administration weren't enough to fund everything on her wish list though, borrowed money was needed, too. She inherited a city with zero debt, but left it with indebtedness of over $22 million.

...

Sarah complained about the "old boy's club" when she first ran for Mayor, so what did she bring Wasilla? A new set of "old boys". Palin fired most of the experienced staff she inherited. At the City and as Governor she hired or elevated new, inexperienced, obscure people, creating a staff totally dependent on her for their jobs and eternally grateful and fiercely loyal ? loyal to the point of abusing their power to further her personal agenda, as she has acknowledged happened in the case of pressuring the State's top cop (see below)."

It should be pointed out the writer is a Democrat, as she failed to do so herself.

Kind of a vague denouncement though, I see empirical numbers that have little to do with partisan politics.

Sounds like actual "change" to me.

"She is solidly Republican: no political maverick. The State party leaders hate her because she has bit them in the back and humiliated them."

They hate her because, it sounds like she's a political maverick after all. Or what is the complaint here?

"As an oil producer, the high price of oil has created a budget surplus in Alaska. Rather than invest this surplus in technology that will make us energy independent and increase efficiency, as Governor she proposed distribution of this surplus to every individual in the state."

That alone is worth voting for her. They did the same thing here in Nevada when they ran a surplus (used the DMV to refund money).

o social conservative: mixed. Opposes gay marriage, BUT vetoed a bill that would have denied benefits to employees in same-sex relationships (said she did this because it was unconsitutional).
o pro-creationism: mixed. Supports it, BUT did nothing as Governor to promote it.
o "Pro-life": mixed. Knowingly gave birth to a Down's syndrome baby BUT declined to call a special legislative session on some pro-life legislation.
Sounds a lot like what Biden said this morning on Meet the Press when asked "when does life begin?"

Regarding point #1, I get what the complaint is. She defeated an incumbent Democrat and fired the staff who worked for him. Shame!

 at that.

If everything there is factual (not saying it is), then what should that matter?

I didn't say that the numbers were true or not true. I just pointed out an attempt of deceit on behalf of the reader who is not simply a concerned resident of Wasilla, AK.

It matters because she is a democrat and therefore wrong.

No, she's a democrat, therefore you realize it's written by a democrat (with an agenda). The same is true of what you see on Fox News, MSNBC, CNN, or some conservative source.

Way to put words in my mouth. I never said she was or wasn't right.

But she forget one tiny important detail, that this was written by a Democrat. Anyone else who didn't know this and read this article would think this came from an impartial source.

What would you like it to say? "I'm a Democrat"? Don't you think it weakens her point. Don't you think Republican journalists/bloggers/people will point out facts about a Democrat, without admitting they are Republicans?

I think most people would understand that something written against a certain person during a political race will, unfortunately, be biased. It doesn't matter if it's attacking a democrat or a republican. Both have agendas, and both will try to weaken each other's case for office.

Palin's popularity rating in the state is 80%. Given that, I'd take this as one of the remaining 20%.

The 80% says a lot more than this person's one opinion.

Those are actually lower approval ratings than she used to have. She used to have approval ratings in the 90's.

She was for a point of time the nation's most popular Governor.

They are similar in this way

G.W. Bush is on the far right.

Sarah Palin is too.

The democrats are just to scared to say that since well they stink at going after the other party.
