Dear Connie,
A 2nd-round rookie needs to be humble. Use the fierceness against opponents only. Be more shy with teammates. You have no idea how to play the game, so your leading would be like a kid leading adults. Leadership is earned by acts, not words, and it takes more time than, well, zero games played so far. For a 44-inch leaper who never jumps higher than 20 inches, you're doing alright, so be content with that fraud getting you drafted.
In summary, STFU.
Do you really?I wanna be an Olympic gymnast.
Do you really?
Hard to be a leader when you only play every 5th game
Nope.Do you really?
He's a college PF in a SG's body. What could go wrong?
Terry Porter played SF in college... it's not the end of the world.
Connaughton was always known to be the designated driver for anyone who needed it.
This is the kind of drivel I didn't miss while I was away. EVERYONE knows it's easier going from small college SF to NBA all star PG than from Notre Dame's starting PF to NBA scrub team shooting gaurd.
Madison Bumgarner disagrees.Hard to be a leader when you only play every 5th game
Jesus I'm fucking sorry.

With the youth movement taking place, Connaughton will get his chances. It may not be immediately, but while he’s waiting, the plan is to practice leadership skills. Though he’ll be a rookie, Connaughton wants the role. “Obviously when you’re older it’s easier to do,” said Connaughton of being a team leader. “It’s not something dedicated to the oldest guy. … It’s not dedicated to the best player. There are guys that are the best players, but they’re more lead by example than lead by voice.”
FIFY!He just wants inflatable girls in spandex to ride him like a pommel horse.
Connaughton wants to be a leader. That's something he's striving for as well as being a good player. Everyone bashing him is an idiot...
He says it's easier when you're older. He said he's going to practice leadership skills, obviously for the future, but what's the problem with him showing leadership now?You won't mind if we send a 16-year-old to your home to lead you, because he wants to lead you, so that must be good.

Do you guys even understand what leadership is?
Leadership could be being energetic, playing hard in practice. That's leading by example.
Leadership could be picking someone up when they've missed a few shots and are sagging a little.
Leadership could be giving advice that might help someone.
A lot of you mustve never played organized basketball.. all you guys act like leadership means bossing people around and telling them what to do.

In essence, being a good teammate and a leader are pretty much the same thing.Wanting to b a leader/him being & wanting to b a leader IS good but he's got to b smart about his approach & timing otherwise... he's gonna come off as some young & inexperienced punk kid.
Semi-semantics here, I c were u r coming from; it's true that leaders do some or all of the above but I view the above as more being a good player/teammate/person & part of playing the "right way".
For me, I hit the "like" button on jlprk's post more so bc what he wrote was pretty funny![]()
He'll be a leader after a season with the pink Hello Kitty backpack rookie coffee run. That's his first test...can he remember what they ordered or not?Connaughton wants to be a leader. That's something he's striving for as well as being a good player. Everyone bashing him is an idiot...
