Wow! His body has been through a lot, but I didn't expect him to pass so soon. He never got to see his blazers win a title though we came so close many times. Now who runs the team? Will team be sold?

His sister now owns the team and will be selling it ASAP.

Very sad day indeed. I only wish you could have experienced an NBA championship. I apppreciate your dedication to the Blazers and the City of Portland.

RIP

Very sad and unexpected news... so terrifying that even with billions of dollars you still can’t beat cancer.

I feel a bit better knowing he got one...but, yeah.

My friend sent me a text about this as I was leaving work. Terrible news.

What a shock!
I always liked seeing him in his seat behind the basket, it showed that he really cared about the team, it wasn't just another toy for him.

Here is his 60Minutes piece, in case anyone is interested:

Awful news... RIP

I was always thankful he was our owner

Just saw, or in the immortal words of another lost legend, I read the news today, oh boy. He sounded optimistic that he would beat the cancer. I wish we could have won a championship for him with the Blazers.

One report said he is survived by his wife, no name viven. Could he have quietly gotten married?
