Paul Pierce just said Portland Trail Blazers dark horse to land LeBron

Sure, after July. In a sign and trade.

“When the trade deadline has passed. Teams are free to make trades again once their season has ended4, but cannot trade players whose contracts are ending or could end due to an option or ETO.”

But after a player opts in, it's not ending. If a player has yet to opt-in, they can't be traded, but they can be traded as a part of them opting in.

Hmm. Apparently that can be done:

“Interestingly, there is no mechanism to notify the league that an option or ETO will not be exercised. Teams and players might want to do this in order to make the player tradable after the season ends but before July 1 (see question number 101), or because the player wants to be traded to a team which does not want the player if he might become a free agent. As described in question number 60, under these circumstances the team and player can mutually amend the contract to remove the option or ETO. A contract can be amended like this with the condition that the trade must be completed within 48 hours, otherwise the amendment is canceled.”

The most clutch player in the league? after getting swept to New Orleans in the 1st round? Dame needs to get his head out of his ass and start teaming up better with CJ. All this worthless propoganda to feed his ego isn't working for us
The media (All NBA First Team) and the players (Mr Clutch) love him. These are good things when trying to recruit talent like LeBron.

Once again, you have no idea what you're talking about...

We looked really bad against the Pelicans. No way he watches that series and says "I want to be a part of that!".

Lol. Or he watches the series and sees what's wrong and how easily fixable it is.

You really need to shut it up. Yes I said it. SHUT. IT. UP..

Yippy come in here yappin', talking shit about Dame..

So what SCRUB should we replace him with?

You have no basketball credibility in this forum.

LMAO what's your problem dude? I didn't say anything specific about Lillard.
Don't bark at me for no reason. If you can't debate like a civilized person then don't bother replying to my posts.

Yeah, the coach is what failed is. Good thing LeBron is a player, and a coach, and a GM.

It's not just the coach... last year it was freaking Javale Mcgee having a lob\dunk fest on our rim at the playoffs, this year it was AD.
It's the coach, the roster and front office philosophy.

We weren't even in the chase after Budenholzer. That's bad man.

So, let’s assume that Cleveland is going to go major rebuild mode. Would you do:

CJ, Moe, Leonard, Chief, Collins for

LBJ & Love?

Isn't it a lot? I mean, if the deal for Cleveland is: CJ + Moe + Leonard + Chief for Love and LBJ or there is no deal and you lose LBJ for nothing with no taker for Love, what is Cleveland doing?

I think it depends on whether Love can return to anything approaching his peak. I think him playing PF next to Nurk would facilitate that.

The trade works cap-wise without Zach, but I think that it takes him being in the deal to beat out other offers they will get. Maybe a couple of firsts rounders does it, but I think they’re going to want two good young players to build around.

You know what? My bad.

I thought you were another poster. The guy who completely advocates for scrub after scrub. Blazer forever or something.

I apologize.

Fundamental flaw. Lbj is a free agent. He isn’t going to facilitate a trade to a team that guts the roster.

Dame - Evan - LBJ - Love - Nurk
MLE Guy - Collins (in my proposition)- Davis - Napier - Vet Ring chaser - Crabbe TPE.

Still something to build around.

Turner Leonard Chief 24th, future 1st future 2nd

I'm not so sure that the roster is "gutted" by this trade idea, especially if you factor in the veterans who would be willing to sign here on a minimum contract to fill out the roster and go ring hunting.

PG: Lillard, Napier (re-signed), Baldwin
SG: Turner, DWade (sure, why not?), Pat (re-signed) or Wilcox
SF: James, (Turner), Layman
PF: Love, Ed (re-signed), Swanigan
C: Nurk (re-signed), Ed, PapaG?

Add a draft pick or two, maybe another vet FA, maybe another trade, and I think the Blazers are in a heck of a lot better shape than this year's Cavs were to compete with the Warriors.

Mmm I disagree. We have a much tougher conference. Means more wear and tear. Plus I don’t see that as any better than Cleveland when they had kyrie.
Giving up your second best player and most promising young big is kinda gutting.

Ohhhhhh snap! So he can’t be civilized JUST cause he’s BLACK???!?! Ahhhhhh shit......he we go FAMS!

Everyone is drumming him up and then he can't even coexist with CJ. I'm not getting into the argument of who's the better player but when they play together we're hard to beat. both came from college programs where they were The man, and need to learn to share the limelight
