Bag of stale cheetos, Luke Babbitt and Jared Jeffries?

Really stale cheetos

Seriously though, dude has a PER of 21.5. He blocks a ton of shots and makes people think twice about going to the middle. I would take him in a heartbeat

"Sticking with JJ" kills any chance in the near future of getting that upgrade though. JJ is not going to be cheap, and doesn't want to come off the bench, and prefers to play PF
Oh - I was just talking in terms of this season. No sense in trying to trade for Jefferson, which I thought someone suggested.
But in terms of this summer - I agree. Leave Jefferson out of the equation entirely. If Pek can be had for cheap (he can't, but...) then consider him as a "last resort". And if Hickson can be retained for cheap (he can't, but...) then keep him as our back-up PF. But we absolutely shouldn't plan on any of those guys being our C next season.

I'm in the camp of trading for a C. If you can't do that then I guess I'd look at someone like Kaman on a 2-year deal before spending big money on Pek.

Kahn is going to get trolled so hard!

Force their hand by making them match a max offer.

Kevin Love wanted the max but settled on his shorter deal. How will he feel when Kahn gives a lesser player than himself the deal he wanted?

I'd very easily take McGee over Pek. Prefer his defense and shot blocking to Pek's.

What could we give up to get him though?

I guess if they are looking to dump salary we could take him on for merely a 2nd rounder (not saying they would go for that) this summer.

Yeah, we don't have much. Like you said, if they wanted to do it as a dump, sweet, we're in great position for that. We could potentially have our pick, as well as Leonard in some fashion of a deal in the offseason, I dunno.

I think Denver would love to get rid of McGee if they can find a team who would take on his contract.

makes you wonder why he is only playing 18 mpg, george karl must be an idiot

If McGee even had half of a brain he'd be a superstar, but at best he ate half a brain one time.

I don't think we can trade that pick though since we would guarantee Charlotte a pick the following year; meaning you can't trade a first rounder two years in a row.

we don't have cap space until after the draft, so July 1st(or 15th, whatever moratorium ends), rights to player X we drafted and cap space for McGee.

But from what I remember platypus saying is we owe Charlotte a first rounder this year or next; which is a traded pick. That means that you can trade our current pick this summer because you can't trade a first rounder two years in a row.

I think the rule is something along the lines of you can't have the possibility of not havin a pick two years in a row. We select someone on draft night, then we had a pick, thereafter, we're trading a player, not a pick.

we cannot trade a first rounder before 2018, because of the protections on it., and the fact that we don't have someone else's pick at some point.

That's clever, RR7, and I think you're right. The Stepien rule specifically applies to future picks. So, if we make a pick, we could then trade the rights to the player after the start of the next CBA year.

That's some loop hole. Curious if that's true.
