Pelicans pick watch

Id rather have Bey than Grant but he wouldn't be that easy to get.
Just seems we could do better than Grant with the assets we'd have? If we had to include Ant and a first to get a Star Power forward, Id consider it for sure.
Who do you consider a star PF? Are any of them available?

Hard to tell who's available who's not. Depends on what other teams plans are.
Im not saying we should deal for any thats the GM 's job:
A. Davis Harris
Green Randall
Siakam Portis
Collins
Sabonis

SF's
Brown
Bridges

Centers
Adebayo
Capela
Wood

Hmmmm. Portis and Collins aren’t stars. Harris could be had immediately. He’s not really a star either but is paid like one. Capela and Wood aren’t stars either. They’re just very good players. In terms of stars you mentioned, Randle or AD could probably be had but we’d have to give up Simons and picks at minimum. Probably have to take Westbrook in the deal too. Dame/Hart/Nas/AD/Nurk contends if AD is healthy.

I wonder if LeBron could be had. We’d have to sign and trade Simons and Nurk and throw in Nas and all our picks. Dame/Hart/Winslow/Grant/LeBron is probably not enough to win it all but it’d be fun to try.

Figured you'd pick it apart and find something wrong. Yeah I know they are not all All Star Players but you ask for some names and i gave you some names. By the way all those guys I mentioned are better than anyone we have up front now.

Call me crazy buy IF Lebron wants to leave, I don't think it would be worth Ant + Nas to get him. I think Bledsoe, Nas and a top 6 pick would be relatively fair. Lebron's got maybe two good years left and will get to choose his next team.

If we could get Grant with our exemption and re-sign Nurk this 7-man core would be nasty.

Lillard
Simons/Hart
Lebron/Winslow
Grant
Nurkic

I think we can trade the Pelicans pick for Grant straight up (using the exemption). I don't think we can package our pick with the exemption because then it would be trading back to back picks or combining a player with the exemption.

If we do the former trade, our roster could look like this:

Lillard/Simons/Williams
Hart/Johnson
Little/Didi
Grant/Watford/Brown
?

Plus we'd have Bledsoe's contract and bird rights for Nurkic and Ingles and non-guaranteed contracts for Elleby and Hughes.

I feel like our first round pick + Bledsoe. I feel like those two could get us something decent (if it's a top 6 pick). I love the thought of going after Draymond if the Ws flame out (in a 3-way where they're getting back something else) then resigning Nurkic to make a last hurrah with Dame. If that doesn't work out his contract is short anyways. It'd be high-risk though given his and Nurk's injury history.

We can trade the pick with or without Grant, the deal would just have to be agreed by the draft, we make the pick in our name for the other team, then finalized the trade after the pick is made. We can't complete and finalize a trade for the pick prior to the draft.

Edit; actually this wouldn't apply if we have both our own and guaranteed to have the Pelicans 2022 pick. Then we can trade either one of those at any time. The above would apply if we try to trade both 2022 picks.

Hey man, sorry for my pissy response to your post! no excuse....peace and love, flower and beads...

I'm rooting for Pelicans losses. Yes it increases the chance they keep their pick, but it gives us a better pick if we do get it.

Now if we were likely title contenders next season I might have a different opinion. In that case, probably safer to get any asset we can. But we aren't close to being a title contender.

This Blazers team needs some risks to go our way to have any chance at contending. So for the Blazers; higher upside, even if it brings a higher downside, is well worth it!

yeah, a great night. Pels lose and the Lakers open up a 2.5 game lead on them for 9th. Spurs win and not only pass Portland, elevating the Blazers to 7th in the lottery, but they also come within a game of the Pels for 10th seed. And right now, the Spurs own the tie-breaker with the Pels, and play them twice more

the only 'downer' was the Knicks losing

Blazers are within a game of the Pelicans too.

CJ in H&S protocols.
Ingram's out with a week plus with a hammy, so their games are now 48 minutes of garbage time too.

It's like the two teams are 60 year old abandoned & out of gas Russian tanks sitting in the middle of the road.

Except one of those tanks is still trying to push on to Kiev, thinking they have a chance, and the other put sugar in their own gas tank to make sure their tank stays out in the middle of the Woods.

How do people feel if this happens?

Whew, I thought phoenix might let this one slip away but no, beat Pelicans. CJ had a good night but is a minus 10, while Graham who didn't shoot well was a plus 9.

It shows you that in spite of CJ having a good game they lose. That's it. It wasn't his fault they lost.
To tell the truth, CJ scares me a little bit. I would hate to lose that draft pick.

Well unless they get Ingram back by their next game. I think that the Spurs will beat them and only be a half game away from overtaking them for that 10th spot in the West. I'm more worried about losing that pick in the draft lottery now than losing it by the Pelicans making the playoffs. Them going through both the Lakers with a healthy LeBron and AD and then the Clippers doesn't seem likely at all, if they're even in the play ins.

No way they have that much luck, they are to far away to make a top 4 pick. And when Ingram comes back, they will be much better, they were playing extremely good until he got hurt. I still think our biggest danger is that they make the Playoffs, with Ingram they are absolutely capable of beating these trash ass Lakers and then the Clippers without their Stars

Can somebody PLEASE merge all these fucking NOLA draft pick threads, there’s like 4.
