I don't recall any hate for Powell, the player. I think a lot of us hated that Powell was the starting SF. He became the final symbol for olshey midget-ball

fuck powell, i dont like selfish players, man wouldnt pass the ball to god, let alone other person

like having cj mccollum wasnt enough, imagine my pain watching that prick powell too

add to that shooting first point guard dame lillard and simons who in that situation was looking to get his own and entire game became unwatchable for me

i was enjoying watching team play without cj mccollum, powell and even dame, everybody got touches, passed the ball, gave max effort, everything you want to see

Yeah, I know it's just his shtick by now, but nobody really hated on norm. Hell, most wanted CJ moved so he could start at the 2 for us.

Gotta love the irony here.
-No one hates Powell-
-long ass post with multiple incendiary remarks about Powell -

Yeah but the guy that posted between the two positive recollections is one of the most inconsistent posters in the forum with the only thing that's consistent about him is that his takes are outrageous and that might be insulting to fans of the word outrageous.

Come on man why so rude? I’m the one who called for this blowup years ago. I’m the only one being positive since this rebuild has started. In fact I can’t wait for the lottery and draft

Listen I've been rude to you plenty of times but if you read the quoted posts in the post I was just replying to, all of that rudeness was aimed at @Mr. Robot . For the record I'm entertained by your contributions even when they piss me off. On the other hand I had to block @Mr. Robot for a period of time because he was saying stuff that was so blatantly toxic but now he's just a minor annoyance because his posts are so nonsensical and like I said inconsistent.

I have to co-sign on this post. Isn't he the pro-Nurk and only Nurk guy who slams on everyone else on the team with a picture of Che Guevara? Yeah, I just checked. Blazerkor is absolutely right. There are posters I dislike more personally because of their behavior, but Mr. Robot is just madness incarnate. He isn't consistent about anything but his unrepentant love of Nurk.

Next week’s win-or-go-home game between the New Orleans Pelicans and San Antonio Spurs will tip off at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Valanciunas is expected to play Thursday against the tanking Portland Trail Blazers. He missed Tuesday’s game against the Sacramento Kings with right ankle soreness.

Star forward Brandon Ingram is listed as doubtful against Portland with right hamstring tightness.

I just hope that Murray is getting some run in at their practice facilities or pregame or whatever so he isn't just coming back from that illness without getting his conditioning right and his game warmed up. I actually hope that they play him and everyone else in one or both of the remaining two games, just so they come into the Pels game clicking.

Oh, I know. It was just ironic sequence of events. Thought it was funny. Pretty sure the Mr Robot guy thinks Nurk is better than LeBron James in his prime.

"madness incarnate", ill take that as a compliment

usually i like to criticize players, coaches (in any sport) etc and while you dont see it here (cause i like to troll people), i criticize nurk a lot on some other places, some would call it "tough love"

You do you bro!

So really this pick can land anywhere between 10 and 12 but it doesn't really matter too much. For it to land at 10 we would either need both the Spurs and Knicks to win out and the Pelicans to lose their last two or the Knicks can lose against Toronto and the Pels can lose their last game and then the Knicks win a coin flip or the Knicks can lose that Raptors game and the Pels can win one and the Knicks win the coin flip. At the same time the Spurs would have to win out and the Pels lose out and the Spurs win the coin flip or the Spurs could win both of their play in games.

The eleventh pick would be one of the Knicks or Spurs getting ahead of the Pels or tying them and winning a coin flip.

The twelfth pick happens if the Pelicans win both of their last games and the Spurs don't make the playoffs or if they win the coin flips.

That's what it's come down to and the only thing that really matters to us now that we're locked into the sixth spot in the lotto. Obviously if the Pels make the playoffs or get extremely lucky in the lotto we lose out on the pick. Let's hope the Pels lose a bunch, not make the playoffs and then May 17th can't come soon enough.

then May 17th can't come soon enough.

I guess 30 days after the play-in games is not too long to wait, but I would still prefer that they cut that wait time in half.
Give the teams (and fans) more time to prepare for the draft.

Wow your right on CJ never missing the playoffs. LeBron has now missed 2 of the last 4 years, and missed his first two.
Give it a week. Unless of course Zion comes back and is immediately at or close to his best.

What are the odds we get to keep NO pick?
Well right now Vegas has the Pelicans +310 to make the playoffs. That means they think their 3:1 odds that they miss the playoffs. Now Vegas lines are trying to get wagers that they can win so maybe they think there's even less of a chance that the Pelicans win but it's right around 33% that they would make the playoffs meaning a 66% chance they'll miss them but like I said a 3:1 payout means they really want people making that bet especially when you see that the Wolves are 1:10 and the Clippers are 1:6 so they really aren't trying to incentivize betting on those two teams.

Then if they miss the playoffs the highest in the lotto they could possibly get at this point is 10th which has a 14% chance to land a top 4 pick. More likely they'll end up 11th or 12th with a 8% or 8.5% chance to move up and take their pick back from us.

Really when all is said and done, they don't have great odds of getting into the playoffs and their odds to move up in the draft are even longer so with all of those numbers. So if they have a 33% chance to make the playoffs and an 8.5% chance to move up through the lottery then we have to multiply the remainder of the two percentages to get our odds of keeping the pick. If those were truly the numbers which the first one is highly speculative and the second is pretty much solid, we have a 61.3% chance of keeping the pick. Like I said though, the idea that they actually have a 33% chance of making the playoffs is highly speculative and given the payouts of the teams favored to make the playoffs Vegas likely thinks the Pelicans odds of making are even worse.
