Whatever you want to think about Phil and Nike as a company, and there is a lot to breakdown there, he would be one of the most powerful owners in all of professional sports, given his power, connections, influence, money, etc. that permeate all of sports from the amateur to professional.

This would be a huge get.

Phil Knight is probably concerned more about his legacy right now than anything. This would add greatly to it.
