[Pick #11] A case for Meyers Leonard

Welcome to our community

And another thing.

He is a white American center
I wouldn't take him with a lottery pick, there should undoubtedly be better players available. But I'd consider taking him later in the first round if I had the chance.

I like this quote from him though (Oregonlive):

“I think, going out there and competing and showing everyone how much I love to play the game and play with passion helped,” Leonard said. “I just want to learn every chance I get.”

He has a lot of hype because of his size and athleticism but when you're talking BPA at #11 and Sullinger is available you have to take him IMO.

Sullinger's advanced stats are off the charts but the NBA is a whole different ballgame...

After seeing his atrocious combine numbers my stance has definitely softened.

His lack of quickness and his max reach of 11'4" will hinder him in the NBA bigtime IMO.

say NO to Sully, he also has one leg shorter then the other and we've already been down that road lately,

"a kick in the leo-nards"

And if he puts on too much weight is he neo lards?

(sorry)

Backward names, yeah, Jarrett Jack?
We did better with reversible names like Brandon Roy and Maurice Lucas.

this really is a fun game

kerome jersey

perry torter

devin kuckworth

im out

It's getting harder and harder to play this game with some of the names in the African American community, not to mention Asia and their whole reverse name thing on the jersey

Mao Ying!

AlMarcus Ladridge

I think we have a "winner" and that's...JaBron Lames

I've been consistent with Leonard!

Though, if Sullinger were healthy and wasn't red-flagged you would have a tough decision to make at #11.

After seeing Leonard's foot speed for a 7'1"+ guy I would take him over a healthy Sullinger. They both have great feels for the game.

Hindsight 20/20 is a bitch sometimes, yes?

Dang. I didn't voice my support in this thread. I guess I can take solace in believing I just voiced support for this thread in my head. :)

Ed O.

I keep thinking of the draft night story about a big internal war room argument over picking Leonard or someone else. Don't know who that someone else was and I know it's only one game, but given what ML showed and how badly we need a C I'm glad the ML contingent won - wonder who the other guy was?

I had heard the Blazers were really high on Lamb. I am guessing him?

I never liked Lamb. Him, Zeller, Waiters, Rivers and Barnes were the guys I didn't want a part of with our picks. I would have accepted Barnes at #11 had he fallen to us.

I'm glad I was so non-commital, it makes it so much easier to say I liked him all along.

I liked Beal/MKG/Robinson, you could flip-flop with any of these guys at the top-half of this draft.

For a few weeks before the draft I zeroed-in on three guys: Waiters | Leonard | Crowder

I like Beal/MKG/Robinson a lot as well. I've stated multiple times on here. But, I also realize they weren't attainable. I was doing cartwheels when news broke that the Cavs were going to reach (again) on Waiters.

Blaze01 is silent these days.

This shit is going to get old, after 1 summer league game really? He looked pretty good out there...Wasn't really up against NBA caliber players, but he had some good moments...He still looks pretty raw offensively...but dunks, put backs are good and he boarded well...Seems like a nice kid as well...Would have been interesting to see him up against Anthony Davis...

I never said he was unathletic....In fact I went back and looked at my last post and I said he was athletic and best case scenario was DeAndre Jordan.

I wanted them to take Lamb...He has looked pretty good as well....
