I'm proposing this question with some hesitation because I know someone will say how stupid I am for saying so-and-so will never be as good as so-and-so. That's not the objective. I want to find out who you think particular incoming rookies most resemble in their game. Not that they'll be as good, just the resemblance
My two guys, whenever I see their film, immediately remind me of their pro comp. First is Jeremy Sochan and Draymond Green. Second is Johnny Davis and Brandon Roy.
What are yours or what do you think about mine?

I like the Johnny Davis/BRoy comp. I think Sochan/Dray is something I see where you're coming from but I think Dray's game as a facilitator might be more than Sochan is going to be because Sochan is a lot more gifted athletically than Dray, so he might not develop those skills as much but gives him upside in other areas.

I think the Duren/Bam comp is kind of fun.

I think Keegan Murray/Michael Porter Jr. without the back issues is pretty good.

I think that Chet and Jovic compare so well to so many players that it's hard to just pick one... just kidding, I think those two are unlike anyone I've ever seen and not like each other.

Jabari might just be LaMarcus with a better shot and higher motor/better head on his shoulders.

I do see Draymond attributes in Sochan. Motor, Can push the ball, quick of feet, defense first and can guard 1-5. Sochan is bigger at 18.

Sochan compares to Evan Mobley for me.

But the Evan Mobley for the Cavs, where they use him as a ball handler / facilitator in the PnR.

Sochan is a poor man's Scottie Barnes.
Johnny Davis: I have a sinking feeling he won't succeed in the pros because he's just not quite athletic enough and not quite efficient enough. But he certainly has the motor. Think of him as a rich man's CJ Elleby. (If I'm wrong, and he turns out great in the pros, then I think he'll be Ginobili-esque)
Jaden Ivey: Oladipo
Ousmane Dieng is much closer to Batum for me (and not just because he's French)
Tari Eason reminds me of Brandon Clarke. His offensive game is pretty crude outside of fast break points. He has a big man's game in a small forward's body. (Hey, Gerald Wallace made a career out of it.)

So far, not wrong:

Because he is the type of guy that enabled Hakeem to have career games?

it's kind of funny, remembering Hakeem and Sabonis

if you never saw Hakeem, keep in mind he had all kinds of 'post-up-shake-&-bake-pump-fake-and-pivot' moves; spin-cycle-and-agitate. Anyway, so he'd be matched up with Sabonis, and Hakeem would go into his routine. His problem was that his fakes, spins, and pivots were so rapid that Sabonis couldn't seem to react. He was actually too slow to get faked out much. Sabonis would shift around as Hakeem went thru his routine. Meaning Sabonis would pretty much remain insolid position with his hands up. And he was so tall and so wide, Hakeem had trouble scoring on him, a lot of the time. I remember seeing Hakeem get frustrated several times facing Sabonis, and the funny thing is instead of slowing down his pump fakes and footwork, he sped up and it made things worse

the irony is that Sabonis was not match for Shaq, but he was for Hakeem

I remember a time where Sabas hit a game winning hook shot against the Rockets with Hakeem. I was listening on the radio as a kid because I was supposed to be sleeping and I yelled out in sheer pandemonium . Lemme look for a YouTube …
