Windhorst: LeBron James, who just had the best all-around November of his career. He has been the Player of the Month in November about six times so that is the standard we're talking about. I wanted to say Wes Matthews for this answer because he has a true shooting percentage in the 70s and is as hot as we've ever seen anyone. I wanted to say Tony Parker or Paul George. But when you consider the word "outstanding," the four-time MVP continuing to outdo himself doesn't really leave you options.

If Matthews keeps playing like this, could coaches put him on the All Star team?

If he does, probably.

But will he keep this? Probably not.

I hope Wesley never sees this. I like the way he plays with a chip on his shoulder when he feels slighted and overlooked.

That said, he currently leads the entire league in TS% (.705), eFG% (.689) and ORtg (131.6).

So yeah, based on his CURRENT shooting percentages, he deserves to be an all-star TODAY. Let' see what those percentages are come mid-February, or better still, mid-April.

There are a lot of reasons for the Blazers record, but I put Matthews as one of the top 3. He is playing like an all star SG . . . and when you put that together with LA playing the best basketball of his career, Lillard and Nic doing there thing and the whole team (minus Claver) buying into it, you get . . . . 14-3

And I completely agree with BNM, I hope Wes plays with the chip of feeling he has to prove himself all season.

Or better still, mid-June. ;)
