Player PER

I didn't get to see that game, but Hickson trying to prove a point and hurting his team is so predictable. It's all about him.

Exactly. I think Brian Shaw did a great job of embarrassing Hickson publicly. He heard Hickson run his mouth, then pledged not to double LMA, then didn't pull him as JJ missed shot after shot, and LMA school JJ over and over again. It was a very Phil jackson maneuver. Hopefully JJ has enough self-awareness to realize he pretty much ruined Denver's game that night.

I don't think he wants to be in Portland any longer. I also think that's why Olshey grabbed many guards. I think the writing is on the wall.
What the heck makes you say he doesn't want to be here anymore?

4 games in
Lopez: 9.1
Batum: 16.5
Lillard: 27.0
LMA: 24.5
Matthews: 21.1
Wright: 19.9
Williams: 6.2
Robinson: 9.7

Funny how Batum is always labeled as inconsistent, but even in this ridiculously small sample size he's still right in his normal PER range.

We gotta get Wright some more minutes.

You would think a guy who is dropping triple doubles would have a higher PER.

You'd think Wes wouldn't have a 21.1 PER, too, based on the bashing he's taken here. He'll regress to around 15 as the season progresses, though, which is fine for what's asked of him.

Agree. If he's his usual, highly-competent 3-and-D guy and a 4th option on offense, he's just fine.

If he's having to play injured, or if his D or shooting drops off, there are plenty of options to take his minutes.

Lopez: 13.4
Batum: 17.2
Lillard: 21.0
LMA: 21.1
Matthews: 19.8
Wright: 19.9
Williams: 9.3
Robinson: 11.4
Freeland: 12.1

Since the last update of this (after 4 games), everyone who was above 20 came down, and everyone below 20 came up. I added Freeland in because he's clearly a contributor now.

I wonder if someone who has the time can calculate our weighted-average PER based on minutes played, and compare it with other teams...

Our starting 5 average PER is 18.62. To put this into perspective, let's look around the league for other combined PERs

Miami: 17.86
Clippers: 19.1
SAS: 18.6
Indiana: 18.18
Houston: 16.58

Great work; repped. Did you weight the PERs by multiplying them by the player's total minutes played?

I got this great piece of land in Florida. It'll be sold in a week. You wanna see the brochure?

WARP is PER * minutes its an ESPN stat but I'm not sure where to find it.
